Offended Texas lawmaker removes death penalty artwork from state Capitol display
AUSTIN, Texas – A state lawmaker removed two pieces of art from a Capitol exhibit organized by a group opposed to the death penalty because he found the images inappropriate and objectionable.

Rep. Borris Miles, a Houston Democrat, took issue with a painting of a man hanging from a rope and an illustration of a man tied to an electric chair with the inscription “Doing God's Work.”

“We should not prevent the display of art,” Miles said Tuesday. “But there have to be limits.”

1. I'd be curious to know if this legislator is pro- or anti-death penalty.
But the article doesn't specify.

2. I tried googling him but didn't come up with much on the subject
Just that he is a former cop.
