can I still use my checking account? They keep talking about not being able to use the ATM, withdraw money...

Why do I imagine the fat cats lying back in stuffed chairs with big stogies lit and brandy snifters swirling with rich, aged liquor to celebrate our misery as they laugh at the entire scenario?

3. Well does that mean
that they will stop calling us and harrassing us for payments that are 5 days late?

Yeah, I doubt it...

4. Yes. Your accounts are NOT going to stop working
It is important to work out a bailout package because, as noted, otherwise banks are going to stop lending to each other. but that's over a period of several months, not hours or days. You'll have lots and lots of warning, so don't panic.

5. Last Night
On CNBC a FDIC report was aired that 92% of the banks are solvent, don't have toxic paper and are making loans. What does this say? This bailout was designed to assist the very large 8% who aren't.

Brokers in the stock market are now expressing concerns that they want to avoid the stock market rising back up before closing and only closing at 250 down. They want the pressure to remain on congress.

Don't panic!
