Hey, where TF is our buddy Tweety?
I actually miss him during all this excitement...the whining cadence of his voice, the spitting, the cutting-off of the Dem/Lib he's interviewing. This is the most exciting time since Watergate and he's gone AWOL. I'm depressed...

6. Kind of nice to have a host that will let his guests answer the question.
Olbermann also lets his guests answer his questions. I think tweeety just loves to hear himself talk. I hate it when he interrupts after they have said three words.

:grr:

8. he let Dan Bartlett speak and speak and speak yesterday, without
calling him on his non-answers

that was pathetic.

Richard Wolffe called Barlett on his jive a little later on Olbermann, but Gregory just sat there and let Bartlett say whatever he wanted, without demanding that he stop filibustering and ANSWER his questions, just like the court stenographer he really is, despite his occasionally acting like a real journalist.

9. Gabi:
I remarked upon that last night and was hit with criticism that Gregory's a great guy. I figgered, "WTF" and who am I to argue, so I didn't pursue it. Great to know that there's at least two of us here.

11. there are a few others who have seen through Gregory's guise of "hardhitting" journo.
did you see Glenn Greenwald's column about the pukefest Tony Snow hosted on CSPAN a week or two ago?

he had Gregory and Richard Wolffe on, as well as a few other WH Correspondents from other media

it was a disgusting display of exactly what's WRONG with the current crop of fascist-enabling "journalists" who infest our media

he really went into what a shill Wolffe has been, citing MANY stories he'd done in the runup to the war, and a later Newsweek cover story that was completely ADULATORY of Bush.

It's interesting to see how Wolffe has come to change his tune (at least on Olbermann's show) WRT the administration, but I don't trust the guy

as far as Stretch...when will he apologize again for doing his JOB?

13. Even fairly recenly, Wolffe was
saying on both Olbermann and Tweety that although * had been poorly served in many instances, he was a entitled to the benefit of certain doubts...to paraphrase somewhat (but not much) that * was trying his best with what he had.

Sorry, it doesn't wash.

17. David Gregory is but a shell of himself lately. I guess they got to him
when he was too aggresive in defending Helen Thomas and then there was his "speaking French" thing with the Chimp. He seems very weak and "going through the motions" on Tweety... Just my impression.

He drives me crazy when he's on, but I miss him when he's gone. Hope he gets better soon.

16. I don't miss him, other than the unintentionally comedic spasms, but I DON'T wish him ill,
physically

I hope that's not why he's gone, but I haven't heard them mention why, as in vacation, etc.

my guess is that he is sick

perhaps that will give him time to reflect on how poorly he's served the public discourse

18. yes, he looked very bad....If it's Diabetes wouldn't he have spoken out about it?
Edited on Wed Mar-14-07 08:14 PM by KoKo01
After his absence for "diabetes complications" last time he came on and kept talking about "drinking."

I kinda feel he has a problem that way that MSNBC doesn't want to talk about. Rehab in silence and it's covered up...

19. interesting...
what did he say about drinking? Was he referring to himself or was he obsessing over the word in regard to other issues?

21. He has admitted to drinking too much.
I've heard him mention it more than once. Drinking with diabetes is nuts.
