There is one reason you're cooked Gonzalez.
It's very simple why this is turning into a mushroom cloud. You lied one time too often. And under oath.

You said they were fired for "performance reasons." That was your death warrant. Imagine the attorneys being good little republicans up until that point and taking their spanking with no bitching sitting in front of their televisions hearing that.

That was it. The bell was rung. The die was cast. You let the bees loose. And now it's only a matter of how long you want to look like an asshole covering the predator in chief.

See we've been down the yellow shit road before. It led to Iraq. But that was when the majority in congress was made up of criminals, crooks and republicans busily pulling litter over your constitutional dumps.

This is a big one. It ensnares you, Bush, Rove, Miers, Domenici, Wilson It's a veritable political orgasm.

Let's see you produce all the justifiable reviews that shows anything but stellar performances by all the fired attorneys. There are none. In fact, they're exemplary. That's called perjury.

You're cooked Gonzalez, and you opened the door we needed. Thanks for your stupidity.

9. He's in trouble now. I heard on the Randi Rhodes show today
someone say they called Conyer's office today to ask that Gonzo be impeached and the person that answered the phone at Conyer's office said they were averaging a call every 30 seconds from people asking for impeachment.

21. At very least, wouldn't it be
contempt of Congress? I always thought lying to Congress was a separate charge from perjury - that the two could be used together.

as well as Perjury. I believe Congress has at least as much clout as the FBI.

23. Yes, I'm sure. You can be too:
TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 47 > § 1001

§ 1001. Statements or entries generally
(a) Except as otherwise provided in this section, whoever, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative, or judicial branch of the Government of the United States, knowingly and willfully—
(1) falsifies, conceals, or covers up by any trick, scheme, or device a material fact;
(2) makes any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or representation; or
(3) makes or uses any false writing or document knowing the same to contain any materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statement or entry;
shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism (as defined in section 2331), imprisoned not more than 8 years, or both.
(b) Subsection (a) does not apply to a party to a judicial proceeding, or that party’s counsel, for statements, representations, writings or documents submitted by such party or counsel to a judge or magistrate in that proceeding.
(c) With respect to any matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch, subsection (a) shall apply only to—
(1) administrative matters, including a claim for payment, a matter related to the procurement of property or services, personnel or employment practices, or support services, or a document required by law, rule, or regulation to be submitted to the Congress or any office or officer within the legislative branch; or
(2) any investigation or review, conducted pursuant to the authority of any committee, subcommittee, commission or office of the Congress, consistent with applicable rules of the House or Senate.

26. It says only within an investigation or review or a claim or document required by law.
Which means it is NOT illegal. They will have to do it under oath, or udner investigation to make it a felony.
see part c: legislative branch.

27. Unfortunately, under the law lying to the senate is not a felony.
If they lie under oath it will be. That's why they all refuse to take oath. (all being condi, bush, cheney, et al.)

29. I think so.
The difference this time is that this thing came up on the new congress's watch. The NSA wiretapping, the WMD lies, Plame, those are hard to get at because they happened so long ago and have been covered up (by both the White House and the 109th congress) for so long.

This deal went down on the 110th's watch, and they're moving quickly. Yes, we all wish they'd investigate all the older crimes, but the evidence of those is long buried. And at this point anything that brings them down is fine by me.
