On CNN Front Page - developing story!!
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 10:11 AM by CatWoman
The Senate Judiciary Committee approved by voice vote today the use of subpoenas to compel testimony from five Justice Department officials about the firings of eight U.S. attorneys. Watch the hearing live on CNN Pipeline now.

includes link to watch the hearing.

BTW - The GOP is trying to use the "Clinton did it too" excuse.

"The committee also postponed for a week a vote on whether to authorize subpoenas of top aides to
President Bush who were involved in the eight firings, including political adviser Karl Rove, former White House Counsel Harriet Miers and deputy White House Counsel William K. Kelley."

4. In regards to the "Clinton did it too" ...
excluding one "news" organization, the anchors and reporters are calling them on it and showing it's a straw man.

Where were these people back in 2002-on?

11. It's just a liberal media distraction from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed
He just confessed to causing the the great Chicago fire, and is in the process of telling them where he buried Jimmy Hoffa.

On a serious note though; I would not be surprised to actually see Gonzo be the catalyst that starts the complete take down of this administration. Hopefully it ends in impeachment as it logically should.

18. Everone knows WHY the attorneys were fired.
Cheney and Co. were deep in the process of making sure only their own hand picked cronies were in those positions, so that they could be free to loot the treasury with absolute abandon. It's depressingly like the system of corruption that that brought about the downfall of the Soviet Union. Carol Lam got fired here in California very quickly after she lowered the boom on Cunningham, and she was just the tip of the iceberg. Not only that, the piece of garbage U-T which is the local asswipe of a news rag here, smeared her for months afterwards.

19. rove was just added to the docket this week
http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecrypt/0307/Senate_Judiciary_Set_To_Vote_On_Subpoenas_For_Rove_And_Miers.html

<snip>
Since Rove, Miers and Kelley were just added to the schedule for Thursday's committee meeting, panel rules allow any member to postpone consideration of the subpoenas for one week.
<snip>

therefore, some republican on the committee must've postponed the vote until next week.

Today, it's e-mail. Oh, the wonders of technology! LOL!

I think I'm going to hold my breath on this, hopefully not for too long. It seems like it's all going to breaking apart fast to a depth we've never before seen or imagined!
