Los Angeles KTLK Listeners -- Protest Their New Lineup!

LA listeners -- you see that KTLK again altered its lineup, but this time it's bad. The station eliminated "The Young Turks" completely in the morning and moved Randi Rhodes from 3-6 p.m. up to 1 to 3 p.m. out of drive time. Instead, now there's some local twerp named "Mr. K" who sounds like a rightie in moderate's clothing. On Tuesday he talked about how General Peter Pace had the right to his opinion condemning gays, even though the question that had been posed to him was about the military's "don't ask don't tell" policy. On Wednesday he bitched about Barack Obama's smoking without touching on his political stances. The guy's an idiot and it's crap radio. Email the station and protest! I did!

1. Good luck with that.

A few notes.

1. Randi Rhodes is 12noon to 3pm. She is now live. Randi WANTS her show to be live.

2. Mr K is not some rightie that has been sent to destroy progressive radio. I think he's ok. PLUS he has a very large audience in LA and will bring ratings to the station. Which is what it needs to be successful.

3. The only protest I sent was about losing Harrison's show and adding that god awful Alan Colmes.

Other than that, I don't have a problem with the new line up.

7. I'm not saying

That he's trying to DESTROY progressive radio. His show is just...bland. Is that supposed to attract audiences? Especially progressive ones? Lefties are currently fired up with what's going on in Washington and we want analysis, not platitudes.

2. I listened to Mr. K for the first time yesterday...

He featured the Jerk Lawyer in Los Angeles who helps landlords bounce tenants from rent controlled apartments. A situation that effects me :scared: What I got from him in the brief time I listened was that he's better than Ed Schultz but annoyingly moderate... :shrug: Jury's still out.

While I miss Randi, I know the live spot is what she wants.

We'll see what happens with Mr. K. It's all about the ratings. I would LOVE to see Harrison come back in the drive time slot. But I don't know if his show fits the drive home format.

My all-time favorite billboard in Los Angeles (even better than the one I saw last year with the girl on top of the guy, think it was for some alcoholic beverage, LOL) is the one for a progressive station, where they have California in blue, then the rest of the country in red, with the tagline "We prefer the left"....Which station is that?...
