No Child left Behind = $$Billions for Bush family friends and cronies ->
ever wonder who benefits from no child left behind and the billions being sunk into it, the billions that are providing NO DIRECT SERVICES to teachers and students? who makes and sells all those standardized tests kids are required to take BECAUSE of NCLB, all those other cash generating programs evolved since the passage of NCLB?

doh! friends and connections of the family of George W. Bush. who'da thunk it?

Read all about it at this dailykos link:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/3/14/13170/1926

BTW, ever wonder what percentage of your state's education budget goes to classrooms versus the bloated education bureaucracy above the district level?

We all know Bush and his family are the most corrupt bunch of assholes to walk the face of the planet, and it's no surprise that they're reaping tons of financial benefits of NCLB while fucking over our education system.

6. Greed seems to have no bounds. All the school districts,
teachers and parents should file class action suits. Drown all the f-ers in paper work and maybe they won't have time to plot and scheme against 'we the people'.

8. So could someone tell me....has that sentence in the Constitution
that states, we have the right to remove and replace the gov't we find is not working in our best interests, been removed yet? and IF NOT...then why hasn't someone removed them? They obviously ceased to stop working in our best interests years ago...yet..they are still in charge..I wonder, if back in revoutionary times, the people would have already stormed the WH with torches and pitchforks, and taken back their government...or would they still be sitting around waiting for someone to do it for them..

9. I know what percentage USED to go to education
from our property taxes (it no longer does). It was 3%. As opposed to the 38% given to the school BOARD.

10. NCLB has put kids into a forced march!
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 01:20 PM by RiverStone
March, march, march to the drum of standardized testing!

And in the process, educating the whole child is lost.

Our education system is reverting to putting out robot test-takers as a priority; yet sadly, it does little for training students for life or the work world.

It is important to raise math, reading, and writing scores; though not at the expense of everything else.

As someone with many years in education, I can tell you the stress and anxiety kids go through on these damn tests are not worth it! A kid is MUCH more then a test result; but NCLB emphasizes the test to such a degree - that the kids don't know that anymore.
