Cheney should be upset with Focus on the Family and NOT Blitzer
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 08:58 PM by Quixote1818
Blitzer should have followed by asking if he was going to let that fellow from Focus on the Family attack his daughter. That would have boxed in Cheney even more. If Cheney should be upset with anyone it should be the person who actually attacked his daughter and not Blitzer. However, Cheney is such a wimp he lets that person off without even a whimper because it's their base. What a gutless, hypocritical, spineless, good for nothing, evil, piece of crap.

I just wish left wing Radio would pick up on this and start putting pressure on Cheney to attack the person who actually attacked his daughter. We are missing an opportunity to turn Cheney and Focus on the Family against one another, and an opportunity to call Cheney a wimp for letting Focus on the Family talk to his daughter that way.

1. He should be mad at himself.
He made a career out of gay bashing.

3. The point is we are missing an opportunity to turn Cheney and FOTF against each other.
We have been handed a perfect opportunity and no one is seizing on it.

6. Wrong! Politically he will NEVER attack them.
They are the core of Bush's base. Thats why he didn't want to respond to the question.

8. That's what I'm saying.
He'd never start a beef with FotF.

7. I think pitting Cheney (and by association the GOP leadership) against FOTF...
... it has the potential of demoralizing the fundie base. Demoralized fundies = fewer GOP voters showing up at the polls.

9. Yeah.
But Cheney would never go for it. He'd support FotF over his kid any day.

11. True but Dems can seize on this with exactly what you said
Edited on Thu Jan-25-07 09:06 PM by Quixote1818
That Cheney cares more about FotF more than his daughter. We just need to say it over and over and over until it sticks.

2. Exactly.
When Cheney said Blitzer's question was "out of line," Blitzer should have asked him if Focus on the Family was out line w/ their statement.

5. I think Dem's have a real opportunity here and we are missing it
We could totally put a wedge between Cheney and Focus on the Family if we start calling Cheney out on his gutlessness.

"Are you going to let them talk about your daughter that way Cheney???? Come on you fucking wimp!"

Thats the question that Dems should be asking.

12. Regardless, we have a golden opportunity to call Cheney a wimp for not
sticking up for his daughter and letting them talk about her that way. The more we talk about it and give him a hard time the more focus it give to an issue Cheney wants to die and go away. We can keep this alive and use it to our advantage.

13. He thinks he can spin public opinion with his phony "outrage"
directed at the wrong folks. Same thing Lynne did with Kerry when he had the "gall" to mention it during the debates in reference to the GOP's threat to make gay marriage unconstitutional.

Phoney baloney manufactured "outrage" against the wrong peeps.
