Ah, the long-foretold End Time, brought to us by Bushco
For many years American business was in favor of single-payer universal medical insurance. The payroll tax rate for such a not-for-profit nationalized insurance would be significantly lower than the for-profit charge from HMOs and other private insurers. Because business would benefit, they supported government-managed insurance.

Since the public has also long wanted just such a plan, how is it that the US remains virtually alone in first-world nations in not having universal care? It’s because a small but devious cadre of obsessive and fanatical ideologues don’t want American business and the American people to have this money-saving and life-saving insurance. When first-lady Hillary Clinton started to organize an effort to bring about some sort of plan, Grover Norquist spearheaded a campaign to fight this, utilizing talk radio, of course, the Wall Street Journal, and the other usuals. We all know what happened to universal medical insurance in America.

Though business’ arm was twisted, the public still wanted this insurance more than ever, coverage that is not needlessly expensive and is not adversarial, as it would be if privatized (The more they refuse to pay up, or drag their feet, the more they profit. They are incentivized to cheat you as much as they can.) Therefore it became necessary to so totally destroy the economy that any kind of nationalized social program would be starved to death. Therefore George Bush.

After pushing Laffer curve theory (aka Reaganomics, aka supply side economics, aka voodoo economics, aka the deficit maker) until the Fed was TRILLIONS in debt, after waging the most expensive and unnecessary war ever, after pushing to the max the deregulation of financial institutions, after forging ahead with the dismantling of American industry, after using your and my taxes to bribe corporations to lay us all off and flee the country, after…the list goes on…after this relentless onslaught on America by this monstrously vicious traitor we are ruined. And this was just to see a sociopathic ideology win out over mere whining people. What a victory. Way to go. This must be the End Time Bush’s base keeps fortelling. What else could it be?

1. Maybe McCain, Palin, Bush and Cheney will be raptured and we will be
rid of these lying criminals for good! I forgot. Unrepentant criminals will not be raptured. :dem:
