The View's Elisabeth H's TWIT moment of the day .3/15/07 milk and cookies to Mohammad...
Edited on Thu Mar-15-07 05:21 PM by greenbriar
Kahlid Schiek Mohammad did a lot of what the admitted to and that our government was RIGHT to torture and that Bush's government brought out the confession

When rosie confronted her...the twit said maybe we should just give them give him milk and cookies every day

she says she would rather be safe than liked
doesn't care that we are hated and that the patriot act is the best thing and that we have not had any attacks because of it

:spank:

... and see how long she lasts before insisting that SHE was the one behind 9-11 all along.

God, what an idiot!

is the devil himself, and that the Democratic party is our only hope.

She really is a good little bobble head for bush. Gold star, Elizabeth!

9. I'm getting to the point I can't watch - even though I like
that Rosie and Joy raise important issues for discussion.

They don't directly slap down EH's RW talking points. She must get it from Sean Hannity speaking into her ear, for crying out loud.

For example: she repeatedly says how she "doesn't care about being liked, I care about being safe."

I guess because she reminds me sooooo much of my own sister that I cringe whenever she says shit like that and HOW she says shit like that. With that arrogant "you're an idiot and I have common sense" persona.

Joy has meekly (why???) tried to explain that America being liked TRANSLATES into us being safer. Having allies. Duh.

But there are so many things this chick says over and over that I want to scream when she isn't directly engaged and shown to be a closed-minded robot.

I wish KO could go and directly debate her. Rosie is wonderful but has too much emotion (IMHO). I don't blame her. I couldn't do it either. Rosie hammers very well at some very good points, but I just get frustrated at the opportunities to shoot EH down which are repeatedly missed.

I'm just selfish that way. LOL

imagine your frustration at the Missed Opportunities to really rebutt those limpbaugh-hannity-et al talking points.

We should write Rosie fan letters and let her know what we thing about it.

41. If she doesn't care about being liked
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 12:42 AM by rebel with a cause
you all should go to their web site and send her little emails telling her how much you don't like her and see how long it takes them to take her email link down. When I watched it and sent her one every day, it only took them a few days for it to disappear. I then sent them to the other three women (this was before Rosie) until I finally got fed up and quit watching. I then got tired of Regis and Kelly being air heads and quit watching them. I feel a lot better now, and my heart is doing better since I have selectively cut out all the people that irritated me on television. Can't do that in life, but I have a remote control that enables me to do so with the tv.

Edited to add: to save you some time here are the web sites for your messages.

Maybe that info should be mailed to Joy. It drives me crazy that I can't email Rosie. LOL

Like I said, I think I need to take a break from that. She causes me to have high blood pressure (EH).

On the other hand, bitching about her may get me to 1000 posts!!! :7

13. I care.... and here is why:
I've been gently chastised before by others here for having an interest in or caring what is being said in the MSM.

Believe me, I know little truth is coming through MSM; hence, my being here.

But there is a very small percentage of people getting info from reliable resources. I like to see what they ARE being fed. And, I'd like to have hope that once a little bit of truth starts coming through MSM, it can snowball and Rove & Co. will be unable to suppress it now that there's oversight.

I'm not looking to the MSM for my information; I'm using it to gauge any trend toward truth, as small as it may be. Rosie is a big proponent in getting that truth out there, to a large segment of the voting population. I'm interested in their discussions and what is "going out" to the general public.

23. "lalalalalalalala.....I can't hear you!"
Long Time Gone
By David Crosby

It's been a long time comin'
It's goin' to be a long time gone.
And it appears to be a long,
Appears to be a long,
Appears to be a long time,
Yes, a long, long, long, long time,
Before the dawn.

Turn, turn any corner.
Hear, you must hear what the people say,

You know there's something that's goin' on around here,
That surely, surely, surely won't stand the light of day.
And it appears to be a long, (yes it does)
Appears to be a long,
Appears to be a long time,
Such a long, long, time,
Before the dawn.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The View never talked about these topics! Now they do and many are
listening and it's interesting to see/hear the audiences' reactions.
Sort of like taking the pulse of the nation...er..voters!
16. She may as well just say...
"Please daddy * protect me from the evil people!" Fuck that, I refuse to be afraid!
It's just a shame that a tool that like gets to spread her stupidity with an open mic. The thing she doesn't realize is how completely brainless she comes across. She doesn't understand that the rest of us 'get it' and she's one of those ridiculously gullible people that believes whatever her party says.
19. I agree. I would love to tell her to just shut the hell up and get
some common sense! I'm sure if she actually thought about things instead of spouting Hannity, she might gain some knowledge and understanding.
I think she must have been brought up very sheltered. That may explain why she feels the need to be protected. She's looking the wrong place though. Her man didn't do much for victims of Katrina or 9/11. I'd like to know what makes her think he could protect her from anything?
26. Well, I surfed and saw several "news" commentary shows
talking about Rosie and "The View." Saying a lot of people (voters!) were getting info from her and that she needs to be held accountable and give facts if she's going to comment on such important issues.
Of course, these are conservatives (Scarborough for one), who disagree with her views. And, I do agree that facts, not simply opinion, are necessary to have an intelligent discussion. I'm usually slamming EH for not having any facts to back up her Hannity talking points.
But the reason many of us watch this show and pay attention to MSM is the same reason these shows expressed concern about what's being discussed: there is a large voting audience with a show such as this, and what is being discussed - and HOW it's being discussed - is going to have an effect.
I say, the simple fact that it IS being discussed AT ALL to such a large audience is the positive. Even with some facts being wrong - on either side - being inevitable, it is STARTING DISCUSSION with a segment of the population which probably hasn't paid much attention thus far. Debating anything said as being true or false is a great direction for things to go!
33. Scarborough devoted an entire segment to the Rosie tonight...
He must really hate her. The graphic and title was "Rosie DEFENDS Terrorists?"
...then "ABC'S Radical View?". Also, asking if this will be the thing that finally forces Barbara Walters to cut her loose?
I know this because I never flipped the channel after Olbermann... I happened to see the View this morning and I clearly understood her to be voicing her opinion against torture. Not that she was defending Khalid Sheik Mohammed. sheesh.
Twit (upthread) is a good word for EH. I wish she would get her own show on Fox, and leave the View. I hadn't watched the View for a long time, but now I tape it because I like seeing her and Joy speak about politics and the issues that I care about.
Rosie is against torture and so am I!!!
love to ask Elizabeth that question. She may 'feel safe' but at the expense of how many other peoples lives???
She's scared out of her wits.... literally. And because of that, her perspective is not only unhealthy, it is dangerous.
Does anyone know what has become of the children of KSM? They were brought here from Pakistan in 2003 to be used to encourage KSM to talk. They were age 7 and 9 in 2003.
Does anyone care????
I do-
42. its haunted me for years--- here is a link to one
report I read of it at the time-
I wish people would be willing to bear the discomfort of being outraged for these kids. There aren't many advocates for the innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire.
I thought of the kids when I first heard of the 'confessions'- I have read that KSM said that it didn't matter what the CIA did to his kids when it was threatened that bad things would happen to them-that they would be murdered.. (in hopes of getting him to talk) to which he replied something like: "fine, go ahead- they'll be with safe with Allah."
This isn't 'my' America- it isn't the country my anscesters fought bled and died to create and support.
Boys quizzed about their terrorist boss father
By Olga Craig in Kuwait
March 10 2003
Two young sons of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the September 11 attacks, are being used by the CIA to force their father to talk.
Yousef al-Khalid, nine, and his brother, Abed al-Khalid, seven, were taken into custody in Pakistan in September when intelligence officers raided a flat in Karachi which their father had fled hours earlier. They were found cowering behind a wardrobe with a senior al-Qaeda member.
The boys have been held in Pakistan, but this weekend they were flown to America to be questioned about their father.
CIA interrogators confirmed on Saturday that the boys were staying at a secret address.
"We are handling them with kid gloves. After all, they are only little children," said an official. "But we need to know as much about their father's recent activities as possible. We have child psychologists on hand at all times and they are given the best of care."
Their father, Mohammed, 37, is being interrogated at the Bagram US military base in Afghanistan. He is being held in solitary confinement and subjected to "stress and duress" interrogation.
He has been told that his sons are being held and is being encouraged to divulge future attacks against the West and the whereabouts of Osama bin Laden.
"He has said very little so far," one CIA official said Saturday. "He sits in a trance-like state and recites verses from the Koran. But while he may claim to be a devout Muslim, we know he is fond of the Western-style fast life. His sons are important to him. The promise of their release and their return to Pakistan may be the psychological lever we need to break him."
(sorry to go off topic- Maybe someone will start a thread about the kids)
