1. AG needs approval, not "the new Rove."
But I predict that the Old Rove will be hanging around for the rest of Bush's term, officially or otherwise, unless he actually ends up in the slam.

6. I agree
In the event that Rove is asked to leave, that would only be for public consumption. He would still be working his mischief behind the scenes. I think Bush depends on him too much to really let him go.

2. Only if the candidates are qaulified..
And we have seen in every nomination that * has put forth they all are either not qualified for the position or just total fuckups......

We have every right to wish that this administration continues to embroil itself in it's own feces, however; the country needs to get qualified people in the posts and move the country forward.

Fitzgerald would be a hell of a nominiation!!

4. Bush Appoints, Senate Confirms or Denies
You'd have to think it would be pretty hard, with 675 days left in his term, for Georgie to decide on who to send up there.

Only people who would want a gig like that would be shameless careerists, angling for corner offices on K Street after January 20, 2009.

5. They could set up shop with Rumsfeld at the Pentagon
It would be like none of them had ever left.

8. The other slimeball, Harriet Miers, would come back to replace Rove.
AG would require Senate conf, so they'd be more moderate.

9. If Gonzo & Rove are tossed? they'll be having offices next to Rumsfeld who everyone
thinks is perhaps...Home? after being asked to step down, Rummy has a staff of 6 and so will Rove and Pianata boy! (out of sight - out of mind) but still on the payroll just like Rumsfeld!!

10. bush might nominate Harriett Miers.
Who knows? From what we saw of the Senate today, they will confirm anyone he sends up, because we have at least three traitors there.
