Protest and Vigil to Mark 4 YEARS of
Death and Destruction in Iraq!
Monday, March 19th, 2007, Phoenix

11:30 am - Office of Senator Jon Kyl -22nd Street & Camelback. A delegation of veterans and family members will enter Senator Kyl's office and petition for a change in his support for the war in Iraq. The names of the Arizonans killed in Iraq will be read by the delegation. Your letters and postcards (we will have supplies and tables) will be delivered to Jon Kyl's office. A call-a-thon into the office will help to demonstrate that Kyl does not represent the majority of Arizonans who want the troops home! Bring your ideas for a message to Kyl.

2:30 pm - March to Senator McCain's Office - 16th Street and Missouri -5353 N. 16th Street

4:00 pm - Office of Senator McCain - The delegation of family members and veterans will enter McCains' office to petition for a change in his support for the war in Iraq as a Senator and a current Presidential candidate. Join in the call-a-thon, or write a postcard or letter to be delivered to McCain's office.

5:00 pm - Protest at McCain's- both sides of 16th St. and Missouri

6 pm - Rally and Speakers featuring - Radio Talk Show Host Charles Goyette as well as leaders from Progressive Democrats of America, Arizona Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, Phoenix Military Families Speak Out, Phoenix Women in Black and Phoenix Veterans for Peace.

7:00 pm - Memorial and Peace Vigil - Out of the Darkness of Death - May your Life Bring Light will be proclaimed over hundreds of luminarias which you will place as a honor to those who have been killed in Iraq, Americans lost to war. Friends of family members will speak of their loss. Paul Hursh, retired Lt. Colonel USAF, Bill Hart, veteran journalist, and Deedra Abboud, AZ Director of Muslim American Freedom Foundation, will offer eulogies.

10:00 pm - Closing Ceremony and Silent Observation - At 10 pm four years ago the Iraq War began with the "Shock and Awe" invasion. Ringing of the bell and standing in silent solidarity to remember all the lives lost in Iraq.


Don't forget your sun protection; water, lotion, sunglasses and hat.
