Maybe not, but I bet he's gone by the end of Friday next. Bush's endorsement of him was hardly ringing when he spoke a few days ago. Repukes are abandoning him or pointedly not coming to his defense. The writing on the wall is clear: They're going to toss him overboard in the hopes of placating the dems and cutting off Congressional inquiries. I think they hope that if Gonzo leaves and they promise not to use the Patriot Act provision that allows the admin to replace U.S. Attorneys without Senate approval, the dems will lose their appetite for investigations into the firings of the U.S. Attorneys, and not subpoena Rove and Meirs and others in the WH.
