35. Didn't imply that CP was 'gutless'.
And I have nothing against pink tiaras.

I ain't no centrist, I just have a clue as to how PR and politics work.

This hearing is a very serious and important step towards the truth, and it's selfish to distract from that with a circus of purposely getting in the camera's view, making gestures, etc - whether or not you're wearing a pink tiara.

It's counterproductive.

with three Code Pinkers where I live and I've always supported them...but whoever that was at the Plame hearing was disruptive. It wasn't a hearing that had anything to do with Stopping the War. I'm going to e-mail my friend and complain...

But, I do support Code Pink...it's still possible that just like with the anti-war movement in the 60's there might be those involved who aren't working with the goals of Code Pink. Maybe it was poor judgement but I'm going to e-mail my Code Pink contact and ask her about this.

89. yep...when our Advocates "do Wrong" it's important to let them Know!
Otherwise we BECOME just like those we are trying to defeat. It's important to let "Code Pink" know that having a "Pink Shirt with TIARA made Plame look bad. AND...that the Code Pinker who did this seemed to DISPPEAR once Valerie finished her Testimony.

I do believe that "Code Pink" has been INFILTRATED just like Vietnam Protestors were when the MSMEDIA finally started reporting about them. Whoever that was who left when Valerie Plame finished would see "odd" since Victoria Toensing SHOULD HAVE BEEN the BRUNT of Code Pink Anger?

That's what I think, anyway.

81. I just posted some pics
Go to their website and check out the clothes they sell.

Here is an interview with a Code Pinker:

What is your battle dress?
We usually wear a pink slip. I also have a pink crown with pink streamers given to me by another member. And one my slips I had made for the another member -- it said, “Mr. Cheney -- here is your pink slip. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out,” and on the back there was “goodbye” written in about 25 different languages. In the upcoming Healthcare Not Warfare rally, we’re marching as pink nurses: I have 25 pink lab coats. We bring extra pink slips and pink clothes to the rallies, so if somebody expresses an interest we pink them out.

51. That's The Problem. Wrong Time Wrong Place For Their Attention Seeking Tactics.
Their cause is not the only cause that exists in the world. Their mission is not the only thing in the world requiring attention. This was the wrong time and wrong place for such distraction and attention seeking tactics. They need to learn to have respect for things outside of their bubble if they wish to retain respect for themselves. I think it's fairly easy to understand here why some are absolutely put off with that display here.

and made her and the Code Pink group look disperate........there is a time and place for this and its not when we are investigating a treasonous act!

73. Yeah, you may be one of many blue dogs disrespecting us liberals
when a centrist wins the Democratic Nomination? :(

By most accounts, Ms. Plame's message came out clear and fine.

Are you certain that this IRE on your part, may be instead reflect that you may also wish to wear a pink tiara?

42. It Was Most Definitely An Amazingly Idiotic Move. Priorities Totally Fucked Up And Narrow Minded.
There is a time and a place for such things and this hearing constitutes neither. It was absolutely just a dumb move on their part. Totally pathetic.

54. distraction and pink tiaras
When someone said this draw attention to her and Code Pink, they were right. And THAT's what's wrong. The attention should be paid on the guts of this investigation, not some pink-tiara'd activist in the background. Like it or not, knowing the media we have, this will probably get more attention than the seriousness of the charges.

62. I'm sorry. I didn't realize Plame's testimony was a protest.
You're pretending I'm anti-protest. I'm not. I've been to a few anti-war protests.

We just didn't organize and do them during a congressional hearing where Valerie Plame was finally getting her day to speak.

68. So?
You disagree with the way the protest is being carried out. I think it's a valid protest by a citizen against the war and the government.

I haven't gotten my list of what to wear for tomorrow - do you have it?

Also, it would be helpful if you could tell me what to say and where to sit, too, if you don't mind.

After all, we don't want to offend the sensibilities of some DU'rs now, do we!...

60. There's A Time and Place For Being Outrageous
This hearing aint it. Her presence gives the idiot corporate media the perfect distraction for this hearing.

Liberals and activists have got to learn PR. You've got to learn how to communicate your message effectively.

Remember those Brits in the bright red and white coats made excellent targets for our American Revolutionary insurgents? :wow:

Oh, I wonder what they wore to The Boston Tea Party?

I bet it was disgustingly gauche!

79. Why do you hate America?
Mercy, America is a distracting place. Come on people, multitask. How can this lady's headgear make the entire left look 1/10000000th as bad as Annthrax Coulter makes the right look?

Maybe it is silly, but that's American politics.

This is the kind of cluelessness I've grown to expect from PETA. I thought Code Pink was smarter.

96. Non issue
It's not a tiara it's a pink headband. It's not a she, it's a he. Kudos for him gettng in to the hearing in a prime camera spot. I agree with the Impeach message on his dress it is, indeed, appropriate for the circumstances, and it doesn't detract from Plame's testimony one bit. This is creative freedom of speech, one of the freedoms we haven't completely lost yet. Use it or lose it is the meassage here, oh, and Impeach. :patriot:

a tiara would be out of place, it's too formal for the occasion. Matching headband and dress, OK.

99. Do we have to reinforce the stereotypes?
I was surprised she didn't hold up a sign like they do on the Today Show. I appreciate what Code Pink does and has done but come on. If we're the party of the common man, can't we try to dress like and act like the common man?

This isn't about that young woman and shouldn't have been. She made sure she was right in the camera frame and decided to dress like a clown. Is that who we want representing our entire movement?

Fire away ShortnFiery.
