1. I don't believe I.Q. is a consideration. They do give some tests
but they aren't really that type. At least when I was in it was that way.

except for the whole "no gays" thing...

You can recruit right outta prison, but you don't want any "immoral" homosexuals, right?

3. 0 ...There is no IQ prerequisite.
There is a test one takes called the ASVAB. Depending on how one scores on it, is usually where the military puts you. The higher the score, the more opportunities for MOS (military job) choices there are.

5. Bush made it! It can't be too high.
If that dolt could qualify, we must assume they have little or no demands on enlistees.

7. There is no IQ test. The minimum is applied to the ASVAB score
If someone takes it for you, or if you get lucky, any dunce can get in.

Dunno if this link has accurate info (I've heard of 22s getting in) but it gives you the general drift.

FWIW, even 32 = stupid, or a very poor test taker.

9. I think recruitment is based on appitutude scores
AFQT Categories

For enlistment purposes, AFQT Scores are divided into the following categories:

Category I - 93-100

Category II - 65-92

Category IIIA - 50-64

Category IIIB - 31-49

Category IVA - 21-30

Category IVB - 16-20

Category IVC - 10-15

Category V - 0-9

In the early 90s, Congress passed a law stating that no Category V recruits could be accepted for enlistment in any of the military services, and no more than 20 percent of accessions could be in Category IV. Additionally, Congress required that any Category IV accessions had to be high school diploma graduates (no GEDs).
