Mr Knodell reveals that the White House conducted no internal investigation into the Plame leak
Edited on Fri Mar-16-07 11:52 AM by LSK
Dr. James Knodell, Director, Office of Security, The White House, who took the position in August, 2004 confirms that he did no investigation into the Plame leak.

He was asked if "he was the man" to investigation these sort of things. He says Yes.

He was asked if he did any investigations on Rove or anyone else leaking and he says there was no investigation.

He tried to use the excuse that it was because of the Fitzgerald investigation, but Waxman pointed out thta that came months afterwards.

2. This appears to be a surprise to the Congresspeople. He was
on the job only from 2004 - don't they also have to get his predecessor in there?

I forgot the timing - this is so remarkable.

4. Why I thought Bush was determined to get to the bottom of it!
Color me (not) surprised. No need to investigate because they knew exactly who did it.

to get out from under it.

covert since they promised they would investigate - or HE promised to investigate.

10. But Bush said he was going to fire anyone involved
How would he find out who was involved if he didn't ask any questions or conduct any investigations?

And for our partisan lurking friends: George W. Bush said this in a press availability on national television, just like Bill Clinton said he did not have sex with that woman (the clip you run again and again in your fevered little brains). Tell me, which out-and-out lie right in the face of the American people do you consider the more serious one? Because if you say it was Clinton's, then you're a dumbass.

15. Why would he feel the need to say somebody was gonna get
fired for the outing, if they didn't know she was covert?

"Outing" a non-covert CIA employee wouldn't have been any big deal, and there would have been no need for Bush to pretend to get all excited over it.

27. Well, sure he said that. But that was before he found out the culprits were all his friends!
Most of 'em are probably Republican Rangers, too. You can't just fire people like that. You're acting like they're all common citizens, after all. They're Rangers, dammit, and Vulcans to boot. Where are your priorities, man?

14. Lol, why would they bother to investigate? They ALL KNEW
exactly what went down and why.

They just didn't (and don't) want anyone ELSE to know.

They didn't conduct an investigation, they conducted a coverup. Where have I heard that word before?

These are people who create their own realities, after all. Being alert to external facts is what small people do.
