Tell me what you think those years will look like...and in the spirit of the Waxman hearing today, try to be just a little optimistic (humor an old lady! :-))

1. We, as a country, have withstood much worse than what we've seen...
...as of late (of course, I'm speaking of the American Civil War). Never fear - we're on the cusp of the best USA we've ever seen, once we purge the criminals brought into public service by the Nixon-Reagan-Bush-Bush cabal.

3. Nobel Laureates
I read a few years ago that there was a convention of Nobel Laureates and they were all bemoaning the state of the world except one who kept pointing out that in our time knowledge is readily accessible, music can be reproduced at will, medical science is highly advanced, and we have at least some degrees of freedom of choice.

So there are plenty of positives. However, I see much of this as fragile, and I try to have a Plan B - which essentially means to live well within my means and be prepared for less.

4. They are going to be the best 30 years of your life, Raven.
Because you've gained wisdom and knowledge in the first (X) number of years and have learned (1) not to sweat the small stuff, and (2) that it's all small stuff :)
