Does the world and this country in particular seem to be...
more out of control than ever since the bush and his minions have taken control. I hate to watch the news anymore it seems as though there are pedophiles all over this country and other weird crimes against children are on the rise. In the past few days, I have read or heard on the news of a woman who used her baby as a weapon on her boyfriend and crush the one month old babies skull, then I heard of the man throwing the baby out of the car and stabbing it, the crazies in Georgia who killed the little boy,.The man who came to the office buliding to meet his girlfriend and blew them up in the elevator, and many others, I could go on and on...Bush is talking about the terrorist as though we should be frightened, we already have many nuts, freaks and murderers in this country so wht makes him think that we will listen to him.

While I am at it I was looking at Hann& Coms for as long as I could take it when I heard them discussing Rosie o talking about the terrorist yesterday, and the circumstances surrounding his confession and what really got me was, (also scarborough country ) was the fact they want to say if we don't agree with the patriot act then we don't understand that it has protected us all of these sic years and we don't understand that they want to kill us plus we are on the side of the terrorists. I hate the way that they portray everyone who votes for a dem as all the same or that we all love the terrorist when they love the no.1 terrorist's and they are all monolithic..

6. I understand what you are saying,
but the real effects of Bush's reign were felt after 09/11/2001. Before that, Bush was destined for failure, just like his daddy.

The 9/11 Commission was a whitewash, to say the least.

4. The Rethuglicans and Fundies (who work hand in hand)
don't have facts on their side so they must resort to fearmongering, distortion of the truth, outright lies, manipulation and bullying to get what they want. Their tactics create nothing but fear, disruption, suspicion and chaos. Is it any wonder everything is falling apart?

14. A lot of this is due to bush policies...
people losing jobs, cutting back on police, not enforcing standards for what we eat etc...

Canada, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Brasil and Argentina along with Chile seem in good shape, too these days.

10. Hard to say...
...life has always been a little weird here. A quick read thru 'Wisconsin Death Trip' or any of the books delving into police and crime history in the earlier parts of the twentieth century prove that the odd, malicious, and stupid have always been amongst us. Most of the incidents in the above books upset nearly no-one at the time because they were local and unreported elsewhere.I think tho, the tabloidization of journalism has made us more aware of it as we're exposed to it more on a national level. It probably reflects more on current 'journalistic'(and I use the term loosely) fashion than any real rise in the number of nutbags inhabiting the country. At least they've scrapped the 'WeeGee'-style blood and guts photos of crime victims and car wrecks.

there is plenty that is not reported because there is so much, I hear a lot from other sources and it is never heard on MSM.

18. The world or what the media chooses to report of the world?
Keeping We, the People in a constant state of panic, or at the very least, discomfort is, if I remember correctly, the first step in brainwashing.

Can't very well raise money for police if you don't have increased violence on the streets. Can't very well raise money for more administrators if all our children "is learning." (do teachers ever see the money raised?) Can't very well justify invading another country if we don't see potential terror and future attacks on the horizon. Can't very well pass laws abridging our "unalienable rights" if violence isn't coming in through the internet doors. Can't very well keep wages artificially depressed if we can't blame <pick a group then read some history about immigrant migrations>; Mexicans are just the latest "criminal" group to enter this country in full scapegoat mode. Can't suppress the right of "the people to peaceably assemble" unless you can report on a couple of times it wasn't so peaceful; even if you have to exaggerate it, cause it or lie.

The reports you're seeing about children means we have some legislation about to come at us which will further justify yet another loss of our civil rights. Watch for it. If it isn't already in place and ready to move. Maybe an updated database of some type?

We're a country of 300,000,000 people and yet the "news" reports on the relatively few who are so outside the norm as to be representative of nothing but a corporate media enthralled by perversion and who would have us believe perversion is the new norm.

"If it bleeds, it leads." The media motto. Which as far as I'm concerned means there should be more reports of women in the media, but I digress.
