Ackerman: Military more afraid of gays than terrorists-Lesbian platoon could chase us out of Baghdad
Well now, I've gotta hand it to Rep. Gary Ackerman (D-NY), who apparently joked in front of the House Foreign Affairs Committee last month. Cynthia Tucker included the following remarks by Ackerman in her column for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

"For some reason, the military seems more afraid of gay people than they are ... terrorists. ... If the terrorists ever got ahold of this information, they'd get a platoon of lesbians to chase us out of Baghdad," he joked during a hearing of the House Foreign Affairs Committee last month.

Tucker writes a very interesting column about the immorality of forcing gay soldiers to Iraq and Afghanistan, only to discharge them AFTER they completed their tours of duty.

A good read. . .

Former Senator Simpson also had a great remark in his column:

"Is there a 'straight' way to translate Arabic? Is there a 'gay' Farsi? My God, we'd better start talking sense before it is too late. We need every able-bodied, smart patriot to help us win this war," Simpson wrote.
