I had a letter published in the Daily News this week. We'll see if I can go two for two:
The testimony of Ms. Valerie Plame before the House Oversight Committee caps a week of reminders about the Bush Administration's apparent preference for demeaning its opponents (and then denying any personal responsibility for the attacks), rather than arguing the merits of the numerous policy decisions they've been criticized for undertaking. Those who continue to support the Administration now have both an opportunity and challenge to face: sworn testimony has been made by Ms. Plame and six of the recently fired US Attorneys as to their honorable conduct, which directly contradicts the statements and positions of the White House and the Justice Department. The Administration's backers should be pressed to either call for the indictment of Ms. Plame and the others for their apparent perjury or else acknowledge their honesty and demand that the White House finally take responsible action against those who have demonized their professional reputations in the Administration's name.
