I think the argument has gone from "Justify Impeachment" to "Justify NOT doing it"
The only excuse I see is that there aren't enough votes. But the American people are angry at these maniacs, and if they try to impeach and many in congress vote against it -- well they may lose their jobs in '08.

That's good incentive.

1. Comprehensive Articles of Impeachment are essential for history, at a very minimum.
Even if there aren't 60 votes to remove, I want the bastards on the right who vote 'Nay' to spend the rest of their miserable, sleazy lives answering for that vote. It's a legacy of their children and children's children ... a legacy of shame.

2. On to the votes
think about it this way

how many repukes are up for reelection?

22

How many do we have right now?

51

We need 67

As the election season gets closer these guys will have to choose

Reelection or standing by the Liar in Chief....

And for anybody who cares to compare this to Watergate, this is just another eerie paralel

There were no votes either when the non official impeachmnet haerings started. Waxman's hearing today is but one on the way to Impeachment

Pelosi even gave you a look behind the curtain... when she said one fine MTP, if hearings lead to impeachment so be it.

3. People are waking up to the GOP
They will be gone soon, for decades, after the damage they have done to this country.

4. I think you're right
I thought that the reasons to impeach were overwhelming several scandals ago. To not pursue impeachment now would be to set a precedent for allowing a president to violate his oath of office, and allow him to do anything, regardless of Constitutional authority.

Not impeaching Bush/Cheney is really saying that if a person can cheat or steal his/her way into the presidency, once sworn in, there are no laws, and no limits, to prevent whatever actions he wishes to pursue. This is not consistent with having three separate but equal branches of government.

7. At this point I'll settle for impeachment of Bushler no matter what the political motivation.

8. I Believe That Would Be The Right Thing To Do
In fact, it would have been the right thing to do long ago.
