Nance Greggs needs to be read by EVERYONE!!

Another DU'er,Tbyg52 and I have been discussing the idea of spreading a little Nance Rants joy to everyone.

Nancy has the eloquence and the passion that speaks for all of us. She is, for me anyway, replacing that void caused by the passing of Molly Ivins.

We ask for your help in trying to get the word out about the talents of Nancy. We (well, mostly tbyg52!) have compiled a list of publications that had printed Molly Ivins works and we ask that you write them a short blurb, perhaps including one of your favorite posts by Nancy and ask them to publish her.

Thanks for your help and any suggestions would be welcome. Tybg52 has already received an okay from Nancy.

It might be a good idea to mention you're a subscriber (if you are) when you contact these publications. You'd *think* they'd pay more attention to subscribers....?

Regarding the contact info I haven't been able to find on the web, you could ask them to email *you* if they were interested, and then you could PM Nance. That's what I'm going to do--I think I subscribe to more progressive magazines than any human alive (that's what my husband says, anyway), and I'm going to write them all and *beg*!

15. Oh, and....

If you write the Texas Observer, you might want to make some argument for publishing Nance even though she's not a Texan. Here's what I used:

This writer is not a Texan, but, heck, you just had an out-of-state poet who couldn't tell I-10 from I-59...! (Just because the 59 Diner is on the Katy Freeway does not make the Katy Freeway I-59!)
