Toxic gas reportedly kills 8, makes 350 Iraqis and 6 U.S. troops ill


FALLUJAH, Iraq - Two suicide bombings involving toxic chlorine gas made 350 Iraqis and six U.S. troops ill in Fallujah on Friday, the U.S. military said on Saturday, and another smaller bomb attack near Ramadi also released chlorine gas.

Hospital sources said earlier eight people were killed and dozens were became ill after chlorine gas was released in the two bombings in Fallujah, in the western province of Anbar.

The attacks appeared to mark a stepped-up campaign by insurgents to use unconventional weapons, after two bombings involving chlorine killed eight people earlier this year.

2. Let's keep one thing straight...

Chlorine gas IS a chemical weapon, but nowhere near the order of chemical munition that VX or Sarin is. This is NOT proof of Saddam possessing weapons of mass destruction. Swimming pool chlorine tablets can be used to generate chlorine gas. It's not the sort of thing that necessitates state-sponsored manufacture.

I'm sure that O'Liely and Sean Insannity will be screaming I-told-you-sos from the rooftops regardless...

i have no idea where they got the chlorine. Sadly though, i think you're right that people will see these attacks to justify the whole invasion.
