Pride in the Anti-War Movement Today from this Vet |
|
I am hurting allot about Rolling Thunder using the Wall for a pro-war Rally. But there is no more fitting place for a Anti -War March to begin. I have today a feeling of pride for the people who are marching against a war of lies. Vietnam was a war of lies. March 16th is a reminder of how Vietnam was wrong. (March 16th ,1968 unhappy Anniversary My Lai) March 17th 2007 a happy Anniversary the March for Freedom and Honor. Those who march today are taken our Country Back. May this Bring Our Children Home Safe in Body and Mind. Peace NOW

of the date of My Lai. I always remember it was in the spring, but so many atrocities were piling up by then that I space the dates.
Nobody understands war like people who have been in one, soldiers and civilians alike. No one could speak for the antiwar movement in the 70s like the fine people in VVAW could.
I am glad you are home and safe. I hope we can somehow bring our soldiers home now. We've had too many unnecessary wars throughout our history based on lies told by generals and later Pentagon policy wonks.
We know what the problem is. All we have to do is get the jellyfish who are scared silly some fool will call them weak on defense if they try to rein in the wonks and the generals out of office.
Redefining our military's mission is one of the things we absolutely must do if we are to survive as a nation.

Holding a rally to support an unjust war at a wall that memorializes those who died in another unjust war.
