My friend's letter to Barbara Lee
My friend called Congresswoman Barbara Lee yesterday and gave her this idea. She liked it and asked him to fax it to her office. He doesn't have a computer so he asked me to type it for him and I asked if I could post it here. I think it is a great idea.

No more supplementals, no more special appropriations to fund ANY support of Iraq or Afghanistan. ANY funding not in budget must be covered, by the end of the fiscal year, by new revenues in the form of across the board tax increases by executive order from the president. Failure to cover these expenses would result in contempt of Congress and impeachment. Once removed, civil and capital crimes should be pursued. If not punished, we will repeat similar injustices for profit. Had Johnson and Nixon been held accountable, we would not be in Iraq today.

It seems you have the courage to consider this course. For our children and their children. For our country. Please.

1. Congress should oppose the supplemental, unless it provides no more funding
except a swift exit... anything else they should throw in the wastebasket.

3. My friend contacted Barbara Lee because she was the only one who voted no
on a funding bill this week.

2. I've asked this before and
don't think I got an answer...what happened to Lee's amendment? Is it still on the table?
