Official GOP Positon: It's Fine To Out CIA Agents
in order to perpetuate pro-war lies.

I guess that's what we learned from the hearings, oh and if you're a democrat, it's OK to destroy your life and career.

1. my new most major question:
Did Cheney or any of his henchmen actually meet Plame personally? They were down at the CIA all the time riding the agents to get them the intel they "wanted" as opposed to the intel that "was".

Plame worked on two topics of particular interest to the Bushies - yellowcake AND aluminum tubes. If they did (meet with her), then they would know very very well exactly whom they outed.

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

4. She was the head of the working group analyzing what the interdicted aluminum tubes were for
When wingers say she wasn't "under cover" what they mean (or what their misinformers mean) is that she was moving from non-official cover (NOC) field operative to a desk job in Langley. She retained her old NOC status because she still needed to be able to supervise agents in the field some times (such as she did on at least one occasion--it's classified, but that was probably when investigating what was behind the aluminum tubes the Jordanians intercepted).

From what I've read, she was on the fence as to whether Saddam had an active WMD program. Her team found no evidence, but wanted another year or so to determine that it just wasn't a real well-hidden program. Today she believes part of their suspicions that there was a WMD program came from disinformation put out by Chalabi's people.

Yes, once again, the bad penny turns up.

2. The repukes wouldn't consider it ok to out a CIA agent
if it happened in a Democratic administration - not that it would. These bastards can conveniently excuse even treason when it suits their purposes, but a telltale stain on a blue dress - well, that's serious. The hypocrisy is beyond belief.
