5. I read the thing. She doesn't give any reasons for leaving the Democratic Party....

What she does keep alluding to is that she's a very needy, emotional creature who probably was told she was no good at speechwriting and nicely fired. She then went to Republicans who probably realized she was a horrible speechwriter, but hired her anyway just to say that Democrats are fleeing to the Repukes, which, if this election's turnout is any indication, is actually the opposite of what's really happening.

This is from her, on Sept 17: "There are still 36 million Americans who wake up every day in poverty and millions and millions more who live on the edge and most work. There are veterans sleeping under bridges and getting food from dumpsters while we are at war and there's no outrage. Tent cities pop up because too many are losing their homes."

Did she somehow decide that McCain's votes now represent the interests of those people?

You know, I can respect someone who can say, "I'm crossing party lines and voting for this candidate because they will do a better job running this country for these reasons: ." I can also respect someone for changing their ideology.

But I cannot respect someone who complains about the treatment of women in politics/the media who will then vote for someone who would not only turn back many of the gains women have made in the past 100 years but also tries to use her sex/sexuality (winks for f**ks sake?) to try to get votes.

I can't respect someone who claims that neither the "big government" Democratic economic policies nor the trickle down Republican economic policies work who will then vote for someone who wants to take the trickle down policies to extreme.

I can't respect someone who complains about "Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism" in the campaign who will then vote for someone who has used the most blatant and inappropriate race baiting ever in their campaign.

I can't respect someone who can't recognize that the media DOES NOT equal the democratic party: "... front-page news is how the Republican National Committee paid for Governor Sarah Palin’s wardrobe? Where’s the op-ed about how Obama tucks in his shirt when he plays basketball or how Senator Biden buttons the top button on his golf shirt?" Last time I checked, neither the Democratic party nor the Obama campaign control the media (if they did we 1) would not be in the mess we are now and 2) I wouldn't be as afraid of the election being stolen).

And anyone who whines that "the Democratic Party’s talking points" are "hooker lines" has no business making "a plea for civility" when people attack her in return.

The woman writes so badly, no wonder she was ditched. She's perfectly unprofessional, taking it all personally.

Hardly blessed with talent, that's for sure. Her piece was disjointed, irrational, illogical, had no narrative arc that I could discern, and sort of squatted to an end without having said anything at all.

The Republicans are welcome to her.
