Losing to a Black Man...
I just read an article in Salon: http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/11/02/mccain/

It seems that Awful Arlen was dropping some hints. Well, given how some on other side view race, it got me to thinking...

Now, I don't believe for one second that McCain is racist, that's something you usually get over when serving in the military; even in the officer corps.
Anyhow, I was thinking that, in their minds( McCain supporters, campaign workers, heck-Bible Spice herself), they must consider it humiliating to lose to a black candidate.

I know it's wrong, but I can't help but giggle a bit at those who are discomforted. All the trouble and consternation I've had to suffer for the last eight years- even though it's petty and immature- I'm happy to see them squirm for a change.

I don't think I'm incorrect in assuming that there are a lot more racists on the Republican side.

The election of a multi-racial candidate, who is incidentally, demonstrably smarter than they...Hee hee hee! Must be driving 'em batshit.

1. heard that, decided to ignore it
David Gregory did much the same thing last night after pressing his guest on what the McCain camp expected the undecideds to vote on. He danced around it - and when his guest didn't take the hint, Gregory just came out with it and offered race as a possible deciding factor for the undecideds, without any proof of that at all.

Specter is desperate, like the rest of his clan.

2. I don't know
I mean, I've basically forgotten Obama is black. He is unique. He is who he is. In some ways I think he transcends race. I keep thinking of the term "A man for all seasons."

But maybe there is some strange testosterone issue I am not troubled with?

3. Excuse me?
"Now, I don't believe for one second that McCain is racist, that's something you usually get over when serving in the military; even in the officer corps."

You just insulted the hell out of everyone who ever served and didn't wind up a fucking racist.
