What a pathetic thing to have to do. How sad that the GOP has come to this. The article does not make clear who paid, it gives the name of the temp staffing agency. Sure would love to know who paid for these folks to stand at intersections.

The new astro turf? Hired by Able Body Labor

Not all those people out waving campaign signs were eager volunteers pushing candidates they believed in Tuesday.

“This is just a job for me,” said Lamar Graham, one of four men holding anti-Obama signs at East Bay Drive and Belcher Road. “I’ve already put in my vote for Obama.”

Graham, 20, and the three others were day laborers with Able Body Labor, a temporary staffing agency headquartered in Largo and with an office in Clearwater. They were paid minimum wage to stand from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and hold the signs that encourage folks to vote for the Republican nominee John McCain.

The four were among an undetermined number of day laborers placed at high-traffic corners throughout North Pinellas County. A worker at Able Body Labor’s Largo office declined to comment on the day laborers.

The signs featured Democratic nominee Barack Obama’s name circled in red with a slash through it similar to symbol used in the Ghostbusters’ movies.

4. Yep, they were spreading the wealth.
They couldn't get volunteers so they had to hire people.

2. Yup, I saw them today when I drove in to my office.
Intersection of 60 and the bridge. I yelled out my window "GOBAMA" to no reaction at all. I thought that odd, to get NO reaction from these McCain supporters. Also, no waving, no reaction to honking by idiots seemingly in support of McAnus.

Their signs said something about "redistributing wealth to those that didn't earn it". How fucking weak.
