whats your vote for the most bizarre moment of the'08 campaign?
For me it has to be Paris Hilton in the bathing suit by the pool, being very sensible about health care.

3. A middle-aged lady walks into the emergency room, wearing sunglasses
announcing to the patrons in the area, "I'm Sarah Palin from Alaska and I need my meds". Oh, she also was completely naked with the exception of the sunglasses.

The decided she was a keeper.

8. For me, it was during one of the early D primary debates,
When my favorite candidate, DK, was quizzed on national TV about UFOs.

It would have been the perfect time to ask about his reasons for wanting to impeach *, but nooooo, they couldn't purposely give that subject any air time. :(

the most bizarre moments are Republican moments. SO hard to choose....
In addition to ones already posted I'd add:

--John McCain appearing on SNL immediately before the election. (I agree with Buchanan on that--it was funny but weird in implying he was like a used car-salesman)

--The woman who exclaimed "he's Muslim!" at the McPain rally and had to be publicly corrected by the candidate. Lies come full circle.

--Joe the Plumber--the instant blow-up hero--& Joe's staged appearances at McPain rallies (especially the one where John is left bleating, "Joe?...Are you there, Joe?")

They really delivered, didn't they?;-)

believe in evolution?" and most hands were raised. Democratic debate - George Stef asks Obama "Does Rev. Wright love America as much as you do?" Obama's face was like "WTF George?"

27. Tina Fey reciting a Sarah Palin answer to Katie Couric per vatum
Technically, it wasn't part of the campaign, but it was a big part of how we saw it. When a comedian doesn't feel she has to add to or take away from the target of her barbs to make the target look ridiculous, it's a statement of what an easy target it is.

The message was that Sarah Palin was ridiculous, and few could disagree.

having not only the pregnant unwed teen daughter of one of the candidates but ALSO her fuckin' redneck partner-in-fornication up on stage at the convention was WAY fuckin' weird.
