David Shuster acting weirdly this AM:
got into a peculiar brand of argument with an African-American NYC Councilman, talking over his guest a la Novakula, and then, at the turn of the hour, said he enjoyed is tete-a-tete with the guy. He also made a very disparaging comment about the Congressional Dems and then had to slightly retract it - the exact word I can't quite recall (long night last night) but it implied ineffectiveness. He made a half-assed non-statement right away but it was odd for him to do this IMO.

Think they got to him for his objective reporting during the Libby trial? We report you decide.

2. MSNBC...sorry.
He's off now. There's Mika on now who was asking Cokie Roberts-like questions this week like "How can those Democrats possibly think...?"

Also on MSNBC...

4. I take people who go from one extreme to the other with caution

He was on Faux, then (departed? or was canned?), O.K., fine. But during the ROVE-Fitz-indictment period, he had me on tenterhooks with his "reporting."

He was saying what I wanted to hear, that ROVE was going to be indicted within the next two weeks. When it didn't happen, he outed his "sources," who turned out to be "lawyers who have had clients in front of (a? this?) grand jury." This means, his "sources" were not actually SOURCES. They were not WITNESSES with first-hand access, contacts, and knowledge of actions and/or documents inside FITZGERALD's office. In effect, the "sources" were PUNDITS---persons giving their OPINIONS and GUESSES about what was going to happen, pronosticating.

So essentially what he was doing was according to the Faux handbook: Telling an audience what it wants to hear. This time, WE were his audience.

7. I went thru that on a few occasions...
I occasionally rankle a few folks here with some of my posts. I had no idea there was so much vitriol for no reason at all whatsoever.
