I am told that my views are "radical" and "controversial"
Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 11:59 AM by MN Against Bush
I believe it is wrong to lie a country into an illegal war of aggression.

I believe it is wrong to drop bombs on civilian neighborhoods.

I believe that it is wrong to steal an election by illegally disenfranchising African American voters.

I believe it is wrong to engage in torture.

I believe it is wrong to put people's lives and health in danger by destroying the environment.

I believe that all people are entitled to all of their Constitutional rights, and no President, legitimate or illegitimate should ever be able to deny a person their Constitutional guarantees simply by uttering the words "enemy combatant".

I believe it is wrong to violate the law and set up an illegal government eavesdropping program which monitors the calls of ordinary Americans.

I believe it is wrong to hand out multi-billion dollar contracts to corporations like Halliburton despite massive evidence that they are ripping people off.

I believe it is wrong to leave tens of millions of Americans with out access to health insurance while the pharmaceutical companies and HMO executives live lives of excess luxury.

I believe it is wrong for a man who claims to be President to go to a birthday party for John McCain while New Orleans was drowning.

I believe it is wrong that the man who claims to be be President can break the law without being sent to prison like any other American would be if they had commited a fraction of the crimes that George Bush has commited.

I believe that it is wrong that I even have to mention any of this, why would any of this be controversial?

What has happened to our society when it is has become acceptable to torture people, to lie the country in to war, to watch a major American city drown and not help, to deny people health care, to illegally spy on people, and to commit electoral fraud?

What has become of our country when those who call for peace are labeled extremists, while those who call for massive death and destruction in countries that pose no threat to us are referred to as realists?

What has happened to our country when we are told to get over a stolen election and accept the illegitimate rule of a madman?

This is not the America we learned about in school.

It is time to take our country back.

Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 12:33 PM by WernhamHogg
Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and pretty much everyone else on Fox "News" and RW hate radio have drilled it into the heads of the sheep that anything that is not far, far, far right is "radical" and "controversial".

Edited on Sun Mar-18-07 05:35 PM by Klimmer
and damn proud to be! We have the truth on our side, we have nothing to apoligize for. Unfortunatley, before the light breaks free, I fear there will be a lot of darkness we must go through.

We all have each other though --- all of us who think a like. So chin up everyone.

If all of your statements make us radical, then radical is normal and the right is abnormal and/or morons whichever fits best.

20. Try watching FOX News sometime or else listen to right-wing talk radio
You will hear the word "radical" used to describe just about every position that is not 100% in line with the Bush agenda.

21. Reasonable, not treasonable
In this backwards time, the reasonable to called treasonable, and the treasonable is called reasonable.

We WILL take back our country from these monsters, these evil people. You may not steal our nation, you may not trample our values.

What little trust or faith some may have had in you, you have squandered and pissed away.

We will take our country back, by whatever means necessary.

Oppose us at your peril.

24. Proud "radical" liberal supporting your "controversial" viewpoint.
I share your bewilderment that this has become so acceptable.
WTF???

Yes, the media have let us down; yes, our representatives in Congress have let us down; and we have allowed it to happen.
Time, indeed to ACT to take our country back. It's not gonna fall into our laps. We must MAKE IT HAPPEN.

25. I guess that means I am, too
because I agree with everything you said. You're not radical, it's the ones who are trying to make us into a fascist country who are radical. My father served during WWII to prevent our country becoming what it is today, under Bush and his corrupt administration. I'm glad he didn't live to see this.

27. All that stuff
Why its just liberal nonsense. What would Jefferson say. Opps, bad example, he would have been in favor of it. So how about Lincoln, JFK, FDR, Teddy?? - darn, they support those ideas too. What in the heck is going on when so many American heroes are so Anti-American. Or, perhaps its just the carpetbaggers.

28. To play devil's advocate for a moment, most of those aren't in themselves controversial.
What *is* controversial, in the sense that many people will strongly disagree with it is the implicit "and Bush/the Republicans have done this" attached to them.
