Rolling Thunder get a taste of pay back
These SOB's were trying to confront the Protesters in the March on Washington. That night they went to a bar right down the street from Walter Reed. I am not going to name the bar or address because of the lurkers. But here is what happened. The Bar is where staffers and Troops who are waiting for discharge go. Rolling Thunder was in the bar running off at what they did. Will the guys got tired of the Bull and asked them to leave. Lets say the left but not in very good shape. No Cops just Soldiers Justice. Most of these wounded and staffers do not support the so-called-war- on-terror

There are Rolling Thunder bros who have been there, done that, and only care about the vets. I bled with some of those guys. But there are others who wish to associate only the Republicans/Conservatives with support for the troops. I shit on them.

8. I'll intepret:
Rolling Thunder is a group of bikers who show up at pro-war rallies (Yay! Support the Troops!) and antiwar rallies (Boo! You're Hurting Morale!)

So they went to a bar frequented by soldiers and voiced their opposition to the peace effort, thinking the soldiers would be all rah-rah for them. They were surprised that they weren't. They were then shown the door with all due and necessary force.

Does that help?

32. Hmmm, not exactly true...
Rolling Thunder is non-profit group which claims its goals are to publicize POW/MIA issues and support vets of all wars. It predates the Iraq war. You do not have to be a vet to join. Its membership is focused on MC riders. Most are the stereotypical black leather wearing flag slathered kind though all makes and attire are welcome. Do not call them bikers...that has particular meaning in the MC community, and RT does not qualify.

They claim that anti war demonstrators defaced the Vietnam Memorial in January and organized a counter demonstration for this weekend. This is not to be confused with the annual Rolling Thunder Rally which is Memorial Day weekend in DC.

Monkeyman is telling a story about a supposed conflict in a bar near Walter Reed. I choose not to believe him until independent sources confirm it. By that nature of the story he spun that would not be possible. Read his prior threads about this and make up your own mind. Bluntly, the simian and the minor have no credibility with me.

44. Noted...
Biker gets taken to mean Hells Angers/Sons of Silence Gang member, the so called 1 percenters, who are actually much less than that in terms of overall numbers. There is considerable fashion overlap, but unless they are wearing colors, they really aren't bikers.

11. Good
I actually met a woman at Constitution Gardens as we were waiting to march who had been attacked by them. Let me also state that they seemed to attack small groups or lone women. Nobody bothered my group because we had a mixed group 18 and the majority were men.

So to emphasize. These bastards are cowards who only attack unarmed women who they can physically abuse.

31. I was at the rally
yesterday. I was by myself and walking around the reflecting pool. The Gathering of Eagles were nothing but a bunch of thugs. When I passed large groups of the thugs insults were yelled at me. When I passed small groups of the thugs they would stare at me. There was no way I would let those thugs intimidate me so I stared back. I was followed several times. I saw one of the thugs push a protester. This was by the assembly point of Iowans for Peace. Several people took his picture. Maybe someone will post his picture tomorrow. A woman from the group said a thug tried to take her sign and ripe it. Another woman from Pennsylvania said they were meet by a group of the thugs when they got off their bus and her 17 yo daughter was pushed and her sign was taken and ripped. Last night on CNN an Iraq war vet said he was spit on by the thugs. I didn’t get the vets name but he was on CNN in the 7:00 pm hour and was interviewed by Rick Sanchez.

I was asked if I was going to this "gathering of eagles" to which I replied, "Not even if my life depended on it."

I ride a motorcycle and am a vet, but I am no right-wing nazi thug (many of us are not) and will not support anything remotely resembling fascist, statist bullshit. When I heard about this eagles nonsense I went to their website and was appalled that some of them were talking all-out violence, even a new civil war. One of those jerks was even calling for the killing of elected officials. Where the hell is this anger coming from?

They should be angry at the government, particularly the Bush admin, for the way vets are treated. They should be angry about how our nation is once again embroiled in a war of choice against an "enemy" we created out of whole cloth. They should be angry at the corruption, the sneakiness, and the out and out treachery of the neo-con thugs who are driving this bus we call America off the cliff.

Shame on any of those so-called "eagles" who blocked fellow vets from visiting the wall. Glad some of em got an old-fashioned ass-whuppin'. I shed no tears for them.

Ridiculous on its face. Our side isn't in to vandalism all that much, nor are we particularly anti-The Wall, and we're certainly not violence. I just think anyone who's on the left automatically and innately knows that.

But, I'm glad to know that there was some comeuppance.

There has rarely been that kind of justice in my experience. I've finally had to come to the conclusion that I'll have to die with the realization that justice doesn't usually happen in one's lifetime. It's hard to bear.

I'm glad, Monkeyman, that this time, at least there were enough people who have "seen the light" to maybe get through to these numbskulls. Ya never know with denial, though.... it's hard to penetrate.

60. In their defense,
I know this will anger some posters, but this group has done some good. they are the ones who go to the fallen soldiers' funeral when that Evil Phelps and his crowd are there with their VILE free speech demonstration. On those occasions, RT stands silently between the Phelps group and the Funeral. I understand they contact the family, when they hear Phelps protestors are going to attend a funeral, and ask the family if it minds if they attend to form this sort of wall. This doesn't absolve other foolish notions or actions of the group, but I do appreciate this action. Just Saying.

61. You perhaps mean Patriot Guard
This is the group that attends funerals and guards mourners against the nutjob Phelps. I have ridden several missions myself. Neither PGR nor RT are "clubs" although some would like to turn them into clubs (and politically slanted ones, too). They are volunteer organizations that are supposed to be non-partisan. They indeed do good things, great things, unfortunately the good is often marred by the actions of punks, assholes and wanna-bes and that is why I keep my politics and beliefs to myself when participating in these events. In fact, I deeply resent the politicization of the wall by said assholes. That wall belongs to all veterans, especially all Nam veterans, and what those jerks did was make themselves judge and jury and as far as I'm concerned brought shame to the MC/Veteran's (or "Biker") community.

As far as the definition of "biker" goes, by the way, that is a bone of contention for many people all over the country but I know one thing, for reasons I won't get into here, the word "biker" is not owned solely by the one percenters.

YMMV.
