U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings to speak at the Celebration of Teaching & Learning.

Secretary Spellings is expected to address the issue of technology in education, and is scheduled to speak Friday, March 23, 1-2 pm. Full details to follow.

The Honorable Al Gore to be Closing Speaker at 2007 Celebration

Former Vice President Gore will discuss climate change at the Celebration of Teaching and Learning. He is the author of An Inconvenient Truth, currently a best-selling book on the threat of and solutions to global warming, and the subject of the Academy Award winning movie of the same title, which is the third highest grossing documentary film of all time.

Do I dare to dream that Secretary Spellings would entertain the thought of allowing An Inconvenient Truth to be shown in our nations' high schools as it will be in other countries such as Wales, Britain, New Zealand, Scotland, Portugal, etc.? This sounds like a wonderful event, so if you are a teacher and did not know of it, registration is still open.
