We've waited for this week to come forever and now DU has become a battle zone. One of my closest friends is gay and black and I feel like I need to call and see if he's been beating the crap out of himself.

Let's face it. This feels a little like a kid at Christmas...the election certainly lived up to the hype, but then it's over and...now what? Definitely, not proceed by clawing each other'e eyes out.

Part of my problem is they put me on massive steroids for a week and I've been couped up and getting crazy. (Not freeper crazy,..ya know). But, I come to my little DU comfort place and it's like KABOOM...everyone's on Roids...lol...the friggin' steroids intensify everything and sometimes it looks like the forum is GONNA SPLODE!

But thank you and thanks for hugs! Nobody should EVER shut up about this. I lived off and on in Europe in my younger years and it is embarrassing what a backward society we are. I remember 1977, sitting with boyfriend and family around the television...a channel equivalent to our ABC network.

There were two women, naked, on horseback, kissing, and I couldn't believe this was on "regular" TV.
They just laughed at how surprised I was. And this is practically down the street from the Vatican.

No, America is frightfully unaware what a repressed and uptight society we are and it will take more than a new President to change it. We can do it though. One tiny little mind at a time if we have to.
