Daily Almanac (UPI) On this date in history: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."
The Almanac
By United Press International

The moon is waxing. The morning stars are Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. The evening stars are Venus, Mercury, Uranus and Neptune.

In 1918, to promote food conservation during World War I, the U.S. government called for one meatless day, two wheatless days and two porkless days each week.

In 1950, India ceased to be a British dominion and became the Republic of India, most populous democracy in the world.

.....

In 1998, in response to allegations that he had an affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, U.S. President Bill Clinton declared: "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

In 1999, U.S. President Bill Clinton welcomed Pope John Paul II to St. Louis.

1. Maybe because that "I did not have..." remark was the cause of the
democrats being thrown out on their asses for years and led to the current son of a bitch we have now who is a liar, murderer, and con man, AWOL asshole, thief, whatever.

2. it was the lunatic promise of tax cuts that got dems thrown out.
not monica.

the whole contract on america -- and the dems were not at all aggressive in combatting it.

that vote in the house that balanced the budget and the republick party pulled the wool over america's eyes.

3. No, if old Billy had just said 'Yeah, I did it, so what? Its none of your
damn business' it would have taken the wind out of their sails. As it was, it was the PERFECT excuse for campaigning on bringing back decency and morality (what a fucking joke) to government.

5. UPI is part of the Moonie Times media conglomerate
not suprising, given the WashTimes and its media affiliates overt political bent, that this would be included in an almanac entry.
