Passports to and from Canada or Mexico.
Doesn't anybody think it's ironic that even though we have NAFTA and the borders are suppose to be open that we are now required to have a passport to go to Mexico or Canada now? We want to tighten the border with Canada and we want a wall on the Mexican border. I find it all strange. I also think for some strange reason all of this will ultimately be designed to keep us in if and when Martial Law ever happens here. A passport may mean little once that happens. Imagine trying to flee America by sneaking across the border. I think they would try to stop people from doing this once a dictatorship is in full effect. Think of the Berlin Wall. It's just a hunch I have.

1. It is part of that false sens of security the bu$h regime thinks they are providing
Do they think that the terrorist who flew planes into the WTC did not have passports?

2. Passport required to enter from Mexico--that seems kind of funny to me now
Undocumented people are moving into our country from Mexico at the rate of hundreds per day. One of the political parties is torn in half over the issue. People are demanding that the government do something.

"I know, let's tell them they have to have a passport to enter the country! "

3. When are we gonna build that wall against Canada?
I am so sick of those snowbacks coming down here, blending in like they were real Americans, and taking jobs in our sitcom, movie and news industries. Not to mention how they refuse to assimilate in their Florida "neighborhoods," as they say in Canadian.

5. The funny thing is that in the Euro Zone, you no longer need passports

The funny thing is that in the Euro Zone, you no longer need
passports to go from country to country. You only need your
passport when you cross in or out of the Euro zone.

As they become more like what we used to be, we become more
and more like what Soviet Russia used to be. Soon, you'll
need your papers to go from New England to New York and
back.

6. My nephew is planning a visit to Europe soon, and did not know this,
he was thinking of the old war movies when the false papers are being flashed to the sleepy customs officer as the brave freedom fighter takes the night train to Spain or Portugal...

I laughed and said, "Nah, you enter one of the ports of entry, say Schipol or Heathrow or Frankfurt and then you're good -- it's like going from Tennessee to Alabama."

He said, "What a great idea! Why can't we do that here in North America?"

My reply: "We used to do that....I have visited Montreal many, many times driving from Long Island only with my NYS drivers license..."

*IS NOT* in the EuroZone; you may still need documentation
if you hop over from, for example, France to Geneva or Lake
Como to Chiasso.

7. Spot on-- my passport doesn't...
even have an entry stamp, except for London and coming back to the US.

Even back in the late '60s I could drive from Germany to the Netherlands and France without even seeing a border at some points-- they took them down at the heavily trafficked roads because the lines were too long.

'Tis all bullshit, smoke, and mirrors to keep us all at home fearfully huddled in our basements.

9. my understanding is that overland or ocean travel
does not require passports...only air travel. I am not 100% on that(I am pretty sure, though). And let me tell you something, trying to enter Canada legally to do work is the biggest pain on earth. I had much less trouble in the EU, Australia, India, Japan...hell, everywhere I went. NAFTA is only for goods apparently as they still give you the ole' latex glove treatment to work...
