From 2007:
Montgomery police are investigating a weekend break-in at the office of an attorney for Don Siegelman, just a couple of days after the former Alabama governor was sentenced to more than seven years in prison in a government corruption case.
Siegelman and former HealthSouth CEO Richard Scrushy, who was sentenced to nearly seven years in the case, were taken into custody as soon as they were sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Mark Fuller and are being held at the federal prison in Atlanta.
Attorney Susan James said her office, in an old two-story white house several blocks from downtown, was broken into sometime between 2 p.m. Sunday and 8:45 a.m. Monday. She said her files were "ransacked" but that the only items that appeared to be missing were four commemorative coins.
