Dear Brian Lamb,
I have been a devoted C-Span watcher for decades now, and I must write you about an issue I am having with C-Span.
Ever since the Clinton Administration, we have been deluged with right wing republican "guests" ad nauseum. I have been a fairly good sport, by just recording C-Span, and then whizzing past the objectionable (to me) ones, but I am finding it entirely possible these days to watch Washington Journal in about 20 minutes.
Be reminded that these are the same people who got us INTO the disastrous messes we now face, and surely you cannot seriously think that we even CARE what they have to say anymore, or that we believe (even a little bit) that they have the answers to our dilemma.
There ARE people "out there" who have ideas we have been starving to hear...voices that have been systematically silenced by CATO, Heritage Foundation, AEI, and their "siblings".
I know that these "folks" are personal "DC-Pals", and are neighbors to C-Span, but in the interest of fairness, it's high time that those "folks" be given their walking papers. Their ideas have proved to be "wrong, wronger and wrongest".
When people call in and castigate you for not playing "fair", you always remind them that "over time" you DO present all sides, but we both know that's not entirely true...not even close.
It's time to cut those people loose, and let them wander off to formulate new ideas... who knows? they might even come up with some ideas that are acceptable and accurate the next time around.
We have an exciting NEW administration about to take office, and it's way past time to address it with all the energy that has been devoted to propagating the stale old ideas that reach back to the Reagan Era. It's really only fair, since those stale ideas have brought the world to its knees, financially..wrecked our military..obscenely enriched a handful of robber barons, and impoverished a generation of under-employed Americans.
I know it's scary to tackle a new approach, but I'm sure C-Span can wean itself away from the republican teat it's been firmly attched to for years..
and another suggestion. Please identify the newspapers with their ownership..
Washington Times- rev Sun Yung Moon-owned.. and that it's never made a profit in all the years it's been carrying water for the republican party
Wall Street Journal- Fox's Rupert Murdoch-owned (no additional information necessary)
Sincerely...
a sometime viewer these days.
