Howard Dean on Iraq: "Today, as the President sits in his 'beautiful White House' "
"Four years ago, President Bush and his Administration misled our nation into a war of choice that has led to the loss of 3,200 American lives and tens of thousands more wounded. Today, as the President sits in his 'beautiful White House,' far from the bloodshed and violence in Iraq, he continues to ignore last November's vote of no confidence from the American people. After four years of numerous broken promises and failed predictions, the President has lost all credibility.

Dean On The Fourth Anniversary Of The Iraq War

"As we mark the beginning of the fifth year of the war, Democrats renew
our promise to the American people to hold President Bush accountable and
change course in Iraq. We will honor the courageous sacrifices of our brave
men and women in uniform and ensure our troops have the resources they need
on the battlefield and the care they deserve when they return home. We will
tell the truth to the American people, and we will act now to save the
lives of our American troops and keep America safe. We also call on
Republican members of Congress to join us and stop protecting the President
and stand with the American people."

1. Howard, remember: it's just a number, and Iraq will be just a comma.
No biggie.

The path to justice has but four steps: Investigate. Indict. Impeach. Incarcerate.

2. No wonder
"Conservatives" don't like Doctor Dean. He's educated, well spoken, correct about bush being a fucking idiot and correct about other issues and he wants to actually support the troops. What a fucking monster.

7. Momma Bush has a beautiful mind...Son Bush has a beautiful white house.
Momma doesn't let all those body bags bother that beautiful mind. Son isn't able to relate to the war because he lives in that beautiful White House.

It's all beautiful to them.

And will be just a comma in history.

READ MORE: Iraq, White House
During today's White House press conference, President Bush was asked by ABC's Martha Raddatz if he thought Iraq was embroiled in a civil war.

The President replied: "It's hard for me living in this beautiful White House to give you an assessment, a first hand assessment. I haven't been there. You have, I haven't. But I do talk to people who are and people whose judgment I trust and they would not qualify it as that. There are others who think it is."

The video is there at the link. Unbelievable. Kudos to Dean for refreshing our memory on the arrogance.

But I hope that Bush et. all. are not with housing at public expense, I'm thinking a nice place in Kansas. As Commander in Chief, 20 years of hard labor at Levenworth seems about right.

11. Bush has not lost credibility!
He never had it! All we hear is, "We need more time, we need more money, we need more troops!"
Hey, show us something for the money and lives and time we have spent already. Broken promises, false predictions, and outright lies don't cut it!

Bush is not a leader. Never has been, never will be. He is nothing more than a dry drunk, drug addicted, lying SOB, who needs to be held accountable for the valuable resoources he has squndered on his war of choice!

Can I hear an AMEN!

I've never heard that said so convincingly.
And, I also happen to like "the Dean scream".

24. I worked for Dean
as a volunteer in NH the weekend before the primary. Some people passing by in their cars did a mock scream. It didn't bother me because some just don't get a politician with passion. In my mind Howard is my President.

"I'd also like to say that whatever it is that Howard Dean knows, or whatever it is
that he eats for breakfast every morning, if I could give it to every other Democratic
office holder and would-be office holder, we would immediately become the majority
in the Congress and we would have about 35 governors."

- President Bill Clinton, Nov. 12, 1997

13. Howard...Don't keep getting our hopes up...
...unless you can deliver, and you know you can't. Democratic leadership, or at least what passes for leadership, has long since been bought off by AIPAC, et. al., and will never do anything that goes against the contract they cut when they took all that money. Yeah, they'll rattle sabers and blow smoke, but in the end the Pelosi's, the Black Caucus, the Levin's, the Biden's, the whole lot of 'em, will fold like an accordion. I had high hopes for you and for the country, but you're in no position to do anything to make Congress 'do the right thing'. The only thing left is impeachment and they simply won't do that, certainly not in time to make a difference. Hell, I think I'm gonna' look into this 'Unity08' thing. At least it might shake things up.

14. I wonder if the word 'beautiful' was a not-so-subtle dig at Ungoliant
a.k.a. *'s mother and her line about "not wasting her beautiful" mind on such things as bodies, body bags, casualties and the like.

15. George and Babs on body bags and commas
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 05:36 PM by madfloridian
"Why should we hear about body bags and deaths," Barbara Bush said on ABC's "Good Morning America" on March 18, 2003. "Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

This was just before the shock and awe started on March 20.

George and Babs have beautiful minds.

GWB on commas:

"Bush told CNN in the late September interview: "I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iraq, it will look like just a comma because there is - my point is, there's a strong will for democracy."
