I Called Waxman's Office Twice Today

Both times to say thank you. With the first call I asked that they follow up on Toensing, and her credibility when testifying. The second time I asked that they get the memo from the CIA person who sent it to the Senate committee after the 3 publican senators distorted his explanation of how Joe Wilson ended up being sent to Niger. I said that in view of the lies Kit Bond was spreading about VP's testimony, that I would appreciate it if they would acquire the memo and make it public. Both times the person who answered the phone was courteous and encouraging. I would ask all who are willing to call and ask that the memo be made public.

As for a letter---are you aware that it takes about two weeks for a letter to get to a Senator? About two months for a Representative?

If you can, a fax is much quicker.

I would certainly appreciate it.

As someone who, until recently, had been homeless for over a year and a quarter, I'm very upset that HOUSING/HUD is set to be cut. Without a lot of objections from ALL OF US, that is exactly what will happen, and I could be back out in the weather again.

Really, I would appreciate it!

Until last week I worked for a housing-related non-profit so I know what kind of cuts are happening. Just as more and more people find themselves in trouble - the states and the FEDs are cutting the funding.

There is a listserv somewhere on my machine that addresses those issues at least in the State of Illinois. Will find and post later this week.

I was homeless at one time and have a certain understanding of how that feels. Thanks for the reminder. :hug:
