Bush is a brave brave man
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 08:12 PM by live love laugh
They say that one of man's greatest fears is public speaking. The reason that so many fear public speaking is that they may be ridiculed, embarassed and scorned. Bush is ridiculed, scorned--a veritable clown--and unpopular with more than 70%of America's citizens. The only thing that keeps him from being plastered in tomatoes is his bubble. Yet, he speaks anyway, risking the contempt of those from polls that he claims not to pay attention to. I cannot imagine how he musters up the courage to put himself out there again and again and come up short every single time. My hat goes off to him, he is the epitome of the worst case scenario for public speaking--a hard act to follow. :sarcasm:

1. He's performing an invaluable public service.
Public speaking classes around the world show clips of him & tell their students there's no way they could manage to be that bad, even by trying, so tghere's really nothing to worry about.

13. I had the misfortune of seeing him speechify at today's press conference and I cringed.

Not only can't he speak, he can't even walk to and from the podium without looking dumber than a rock. I noticed that they are moving the podium closer and closer to the door to spare us the agony of watching his clumsy entrances and exits.

16. Fecal matter is most apt...
...in terms of an analogy. Of course, evidence demonstrates that Bush is the lowest form of fecal matter: deep ocean abyss worm dung.

6. I took a speaking class at university
my Speech teacher told me that if you were really nervous, you should take a shot of vodka. I was very nervous before my final...a 45 minute speech, on what, I cannot recall. I thought that I needed more than the "one shot" so I had a few. Needless to say, I looked very Bush-like at my speech. The video that the prof took could win awards on Youtube. I was a joke. I looked like a complete ass, but at least I stood there and did my 45 minutes. I got a B-.

I think that Bush is really nervous, therefore he drinks about seven shots each time he goes on tv. It would say a whole lot about his behavior and presentation.

10. I remember the first time I spoke in front of an audience at work
Edited on Mon Mar-19-07 08:55 PM by live love laugh
I was terrified--yet I had the desire to do it. I wanted to prove to myself that I could despite my fear. I stumbled through all of two paragraphs, head down. When I finished, I sat down and reflected. As bad as I knew I was, I felt like I had just won the New York marathon. It was a breakthrough achievement for me. I have since spoken before many large groups, I'm always nervous but each experience builds my confidence and the more knowledgeable I am about my topic, the better I speak.

14. Just read Bush on the Couch
by Dr. Justin Frank. He says Bush suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), along with "untreated and uncured" alcoholism (a dry drunk). But even dry drunks with ADHD can speak English, no?

17. I have even known drunk, drunks who could still put a sentence
together, but Bush is a not so dry drunk, who can't hold onto his thoughts if the thought he is trying to verbalize is too comprehensive. This is why he forgets what he is saying in the middle of his sentences. Sometimes you can actually tell when he's sober because he seems brighter and can speak normally at those times, but he's not that way very often. This makes me believe that he is drinking or popping pills because if he were dry but suffered brain cell damage, he would be consistent in his guffaws.
