Tonight's Auburn University Peace Rally (photos)
The Auburn peace rally was great! There was quite an impressive turnout of at least 75 people.

Here's some photos.. taken by my brother:

Bonus photos - We did have one nutty college republican who came up and started arguing with the veterans for peace and getting in their faces:

5. He just can't imagine...
How absolutely STUPID he looks!

Especially in front of that Marine Corps vet...the little Repub boy looks like the wuss he probably is--and just like all of his chickens---, er, chickenhawk allies who work for his favorite pResident.

You all ought to be proud of the hard work you did in putting together and carrying out that rally--what great photos, too! And especially in a place with a (probably overstated) rep for not being too kind to your way of thinking.

To all of you, here's one big "WAR EAGLE"!!!:D

B-)

Did anyone remember to tell him he was needed in Iraq?

8. Auburn, Alabama
Great little college town. Well, except for the fundies and frat boys, but even most of them are friendly. A sideline reporter for ESPN once told me it was his favorite college football experience.

The picture of the rich little frat kid is typical, but you have them almost everywhere. I love Auburn except for their politics, which is probably 60% republican. I once met Lillian Carter at Auburn. She was a house mother for the KA fraternity back when I was a kid (1950s). It was years later when Jimmy was governor of Georgia before I even realized she was his mother. Lillian would drive around town in her big, expensive Cadillac and often loaned it to the frat boys who didn't have a car.

16. Were you a student at Auburn in the 50s?
I was a freshman in 1959. My roommate's brother was a KA. I went to one party there, but I don't remember seeing Lillian Carter. I seem to remember that her cadillac was baby blue. Is that correct?

15. Great pictures! Wonderful rally!
And not an anarchist or communist banner in sight. This is what all our peace protests should look like. This is exactly what will get those last fence sitters motivated and activated!
