America calls for foreign mercenaries as war enters 5th year
snip...
he American War Leaders, and in an effort to bolster their flagging War Machine, have now taken to recruiting tens of thousands of Foreign Mercenaries with offers of US Citizenship in exchange for war duty, and as we can read about in this report:

"Born in Evora, Portugal, Lopes enlisted in the U.S. Marines as a Portuguese citizen, earning the nickname Euroguy in his platoon's radio transmissions when he served in Iraq as a lance corporal two years ago. This week, 23 years after his family brought him as baby to Rhode Island, Lopes finally took the naturalization oath, taking advantage of laws that speed up the citizenship process for military personnel.

Lopes, 25, is one of about 69,000 foreign-born people in the military. About 40,000 of them are not citizens. With the armed forces straining to recruit and retain troops to fight wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, non-citizens make up a small but essential pool of potential soldiers, government officials and experts said.

I think it was the American Revolution that King George hired the Hessians to fight Americans
history repeats itself in a ironical twist

1. One detial though
Lopes, from what I read, is not a foreign mercenary, but held a greencard.

I could have enlisted as early as 1985 with a green card, and after Sept 11 would have qualified to be an officer due to my citizenship papers...

so this is a tad misleading, unless we are actively (and I beleive we are) recruiting foreigners who do not hold an I- 555, aka a greencaerd

By the way, if you hold one, and you are male, you need to register for SS anyhow

4. You welcome
now I have heard of rumors of people enlisting in US Embasies (peru) for the same promise... they will get a Greencard shortly before taking the oath, and cititenship at the end of their service.

That is skirting the law and hiring mercs... one of these days will go and look for that in peruvian papers, and yep the ruskies want us to fail... for good reason actually, from their POV... the grand central Asian Game. They have been at it for oh 200 years...

3. Whenever I read about the US hiring mercenaries or privatizing
the military, I'm reminded on Flaubert's Salammbo, a tale of mercenaries gone wrong. It seems we are already sacrificing our troops to Moloch, and I guess Iraq is Tophet.

7. George the W has done everything but tax our tea.
But, hey, I read tea consumption is on the increase so maybe he'll get to that soon. :)
