Ok observations from batch one
http://www.judiciary.house.gov/media/pdfs/DOJDocsPt1-1070319.pdf

Notes

Carol Lam is the USA for San Diego
AP gets the story May 18th, 2006... when exactly where they with the Cunningham case?
When did the WH know ?

Urgent report

Brian. we should loop in WH too. I will loop WH leg.

This is in the email from Smith Kimberly A
To Seidel Rebecca, dated Tuesday may 23rd...
DAO 438

Duke Cunningham signed the complaint against Lam on October 5th, 2005... that was very close to his conviction, 450
The issue with Carol Lam seems more than just suspicious. It seems to me, and this is my impression, that the false report was released to AP by Darryl Issa, who acted like a hitman. Of course, this is not politically correct to say. After he did that, a chain of events went down hill, and we even got Cunningham signing. It seems to me that they were trying to get her before the Dukester got convicted... but that failed.

So at the end of the first section Lam got an incredible good assessment from DOJ, in two letters sent to both Senator Feinstein and Congressman Issa, from William E. Moschella, Assistant AG.

1. Interesting. A little obstruction of justice in the white house, huh?
Maybe that will reach the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors".

can catch...

Will be sending these things, with letter and marked PDFs to Leahy's office.

I know they are releasing them for transparency sake, but there is more to the release... and I think is fresh sets of eyes

3. Issa IS a hitman.
He's a prick. Did you know that he was the ONLY Congressman invited on the "Mission Accomplished" Broo-ha-ha with Little Lord Pissypants?

Did you see the stuff on Specter? What a bunch of bullshit. He should be thrown the hell off the committee. For the Specter info...it's on my initial thread re: Docs.

i am too tired , in pain and too old tonight to engage in this battle that must be waged
for this nation tonight
so I must rest.

The battle will be even worse in the coming days and weeks
to recapture the entity of this nation soul.

You, the democratic party and DU have done a magnificent job for democracy today
now somebody send the observations to Waxman.

I await the battle tomorrow, rested, informed and armed with
the armor of truth, logic and justice and the written word.

Gee, I get corny.

10. She went after corrupt Border Patrol agents and also Tenet Hospital
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 03:15 AM by rainbow4321
Looks like she was doing what she could with crappy funding..makes sense to me...why use the $$ to go after a handful of illegals when you can go after a crooked officer who lets in hundreds?? I hope all of her cases get scrutinized to see where/who they would have led to. Border Patrol issues could have led to more public scrutiny of Homeland Security lapses, etc...Tenet Hospital = $21 million fine probably pissed off some bigwigs/lobbyists somewhere.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/uniontrib/20070121/news_1n21lam.html

But that policy may have alienated key law enforcement constituencies. The union that represents Border Patrol agents was outspoken in its dissatisfaction. Lam tightened the guidelines for deciding which smuggling and immigration cases her office would undertake, meaning fewer cases went to court. Instead of going after coyotes, the guides who bring illegal crossers into the United States, her office targeted the leaders of smuggling organizations. It also prosecuted corrupt Border Patrol agents and border inspectors.

One corrupt Border Patrol agent could be responsible for letting hundreds of illegal immigrants into the country, Lam said. Investigating and prosecuting that agent – Lam's office had seven such cases – could reduce illegal entries into the country but be counted only as a single effort. She said she did not ignore the border cases, but tried to reallocate the office's finite resources.

And then there was the Alvarado Hospital case. An expert on medical fraud, Lam prosecuted officials there for allegedly accepting kickbacks over a common practice used in the industry to entice doctors to work in underserved areas.

In the end, the case was settled after federal regulators said they would cut off the hospital from Medicare and Medi-Cal patients, its biggest source of revenue. That led the hospital owner, Tenet Healthcare, to agree to pay a $21 million fine and sell or close the facility. Criminal charges were dismissed.

15. Seems they made it final when it was most crucial though
Yesterday, Feinstein's floor speech had the date that Lam sent an internal e-mail notifying 'Main Justice' that she would be executing a search on Foggo's office and residence (within 2 days, IIRC). The following day, the email was sent about her being a "problem" needing and her replacement named immediately upon her term ending 11/18/06.

Seems the investigation(s) may have been getting too close to that paper trail of a $140K no-bid one month contract to given to MZM provide 'office and equipment to VP Cheney'. Coincidentally, the same price tag as the yacht purchased by the MZM guy for Cunningham.

Now, where's that furniture and equipment?
