If dick hogwash croaks or resigns, who takes his filthy place?
And who picks him? dick hogwash picked himself remember, who will pick his successor, and will that successor be better or worse than dick hogwash? (hard to imagine anyone worse)

He is the head war pig profiteer after all, who will keep this evil rolling on far into the future?

Rove? Kissinger? Offhand I can't think of anyone more monstrously disgusting or dangerous than dick fucking hogwash.

8. No, it would be a Presidential appointment
That only happens if both the President and Vice President are taken out of office for any number of reasons.

My guess would be one of the G.O.P. players for the Presidency in 2008. McCain, Guiliani, Brownback, or Romney.

16. They really are eating their own now
That party is in such disarray right now. They have no idea which way is up. It's almost comical if it wasn't for the fact that its costing American lives and the lives of so many innocents.

But I'd bet that whoever it is on Karl's list, that HE (yes, "he" because that's all that's going for it so far) already has one of those 'exploratory committees' in full swing.

12. Ostensibly
Bush would name a new vice president, who would be interviewed Supreme Court nominee style by a Senate committee, then approved by the full Senate. At this point, unless Bush named Beelzebub, I would guess that the Senate would do a very cursory interview and pretty much rubber-stamp the choice. They might try to extract a meaningless pledge from the nominee that if Bush resigns under a legal cloud that the nominee wouldn't then issue a presidential pardon, but I don't think the Senate would withhold consent from Bush's choice to replace Cheney.

26. Thanks for the information
If both houses of Congress get in on the act, it's possible that George will have a little more difficulty naming a replacement for Deadeye Dick. In that case, I suppose that the administration will keep Cheney's festering corpse in office for at least another six or eight months if they can, and then Bush can say that with so little time left in his administration, they're just not going to name a successor. That carries a whole lot of risks with it as well, but a criminal enterprise like the Bush administration will not brook much outside scrutiny or interference.
