Heard this on Texas State Network News driving to work

I was a little out of it, but I'm almost positive I heard this.

The news story talked about presidential contenders visiting Texas today. One was Bill Richardson. The other was Guiliani, visiting Dallas. The story went on to state (and I BELIEVE I HEARD THIS RIGHT) that 2/3 of Texas Republicans support Newt Gingrich, even though he is not yet running.

Wow, I couldn't believe it. I love my state, and I know our Republicans are a breed in itself, but 2/3 behind Newt is just frickin' insane! I still find this hard to believe. Maybe I missed a tidbit in the report.

1. That was some straw poll done, don't believe it, many of these are designed

to heavily skew towards a candidate.

5. Okay, I knew there had to be an explanation

I mean, Newt hasn't even declared, and to hear something like this early in the morning was bizarre. But, as some of you would love to remind me, this is Texas.

2. Gingrich is sneaking up on everyone. He's a conservative

and the others are seen as moderates. :scared:

3. I read where Newt's ego is telling him

to wait for a "draft Newt" movement, a tidal wave of Republics rushing him to the throne. He thinks it's coming.

We can only hope....he would self-destruct in the Presidential run.

4. I was thinking the other day that I'm going to makeup a bumper

sticker that says something like "Newt Gingrich - Hit Man for the Contract on America" (or something to that effect). Just to get some negative, but true info out before we have to see more of him in the press.

By contrast, Mr. Gingrich, the former House speaker who has yet to say whether he'll run for president, is mentioned more often among the party faithful who have a preference than any other potential nominee. 9. Is "Texas State Network News" an ironic reference to Fox? Or is there actually such a thing?

10. Texas State Network News

Is something that some radio stations pick up around the state. It's a five minute news broadcast at the last 5 minutes of the hour.

I don't know if I would necessarily go so far as to call it a Fox clone, but I have found some conservative statements in between the lines, if you know what I mean.
