Tom DeLay, Indicted Criminal, Shills on Today Show + His New Book
I don't even know where to start. This indicted criminal hit the airwaves Sunday morning when MTP invited him on as a guest panelist. But this morning, who does the Today Show interview? Tom DeLay!

At least Matt Lauer stated up front the man was indicted on finance charges, and you could see DeLay's sinister smirk lessen a bit. But basically, DeLay, indicted criminal, was allowed to go on the Today Show to shill for his new book.

As expected, DeLay lied his behind off once again. (paraphrased): "I was never charged with anything," he said. "There was a racketeering charge against me and it was dropped. It was a Democratic plan from 12 years ago to go after Tom DeLay, it was even on their website."

Meredith Viera asked him if he believes, given what he said on MTP about anti-war protesters being unpatriotic and aiding and abetting the enemy, if he feels that the 59% of Americans polled who believe we should get out of Iraq by 2008 are also aiding and abedding the enemy. Boy did he dance around that one. Meredith asked him that question several times, the final time saying, "I don't mean to beat a dead horse..." All DeLay the criminal could do was squirm, hem, and haw, and utter nonsense such as, "everyone has their opinions."

Of course, DeLay thought ill of the Democrats who are leading the charge in the latest Bush administration scandal involving the firing of U.S. Attorney Generals, calling it a "personnel change" that is just par for the course. I bet he's scared more is going to be found on him after all is said and done.

It's a bizarro world we live in, where indicted Republican criminals are allowed to write books for profit and appear on all the talk shows, lying and deceiving.

1. When does Delay's trial begin?
Its been well over a year since he was indicted, more like a year and a half.
Did he say when he was going to trial? The sooner the better but, y'know, Delay is his middle name. Oooops I meant his last name

6. he's appealing the charges, it's tied up in court right now.

7. Yep, these guys know EXACTLY how to game the system.
Tie things up; obfuscate; appeal; make it so confusing the charges will simply have to be dropped. Not to mention flex those powerful political muscles, do a good 'ol Texas-style bribe or two...

The endemic Republican corruption is disgusting to say the least
:puke:

3. I am a Meredith Viera fan. I KNEW she would ask

5. A lot of people were shocked she was chosen for Today Show at first,
including me. But I thought about it, and I learned where she stood politically based on a couple viewings of The View, and had respect for her viewpoints and her style. Unlike that neocon pro-Bush Elizabeth woman who you just want to grab and shake back into reality! :)

I think Meredith is doing a fine job.

9. This sick bastard was also interviewed on NPR this am.
He refers to democrats as 'the enemy'. This sob needs to be in a prison isolated with his own sick thoughts. HE CLAIMS to be the victim of politics of personal destruction for 12 years. One sick fucker.

She got Delay to squirm. It was quite nice, I must say.

11. Those who knew her from the View knew
that
1) She is no repuke
2) She knows fools when she sees them

15. But GE makes the decisions, not Viera. And, sorry, I'd rather shoot
myself than watch The View.

12. I saw his book yesterday
My reaction was: :wtf:

Foreword by Rush Limbaugh and preface by Sean Hannity, IIRC from looking at the cover. I didn't glance through it at all, I don't care to throw up in a bookstore. At least it was on the same table as The God Delusion by Dawkins, so at least a Freeper-type picking up the book would have a good rattling before getting out of there... ;) ...bookstores generally aren't safe places for right-wingers, after all....hehehehehe

13. Foreward by Rush Limbaugh?
Why does that not surprise me?

That proves the point I'm been making all along, that Rush is nothing more than a paid Republican hack job. It probably goes even deeper than that too. I bet DeLay bought out Rush a long time ago.

18. Not surprised here either
Delay, Limpballs, and Insannity all in one book. A trifecta of losers if there ever was one.

17. Justice delayed is justice denied
It sure seems like there's a 2-tiered justice system in this country. Most folks go to trial after they're indicted. The Lays and Delays go on talk shows.
