Your Last ChanceIt’s the final day of our 4-day campaign to reject President Bush’s immoral budget!
Thousands of members of the ECAP community have already called Congress. Here’s what one caller told his Representative:
"I make six figures. I will be fine. But I know many individuals this budget will devastate further. One is a woman that is in a bed full time because she has MS. This will cut into her food stamps? Another I know is a working mother trying to hold down a job and go to college. She gets childcare assistance? If this woman goes to college and becomes an active taxpayer, is it not much better in the long run for the society?" Congress needs to hear a lot more stories like this one as it debates its own version of the budget – and we need your help to make the final push.
Today, we want your Representatives and Senators to know about the impact the federal budget has on nutrition and housing programs. One quick phone call is all you need to do to make a difference:

This link will give you easy, step-by-step instructions on how to call your members of Congress, and what to say when you have their staff member on the phone.
You can also give us feedback, tell us what you said, and let us know how the call went.
Find out how to join the campaign now: Call Congress today! One of our callers asked, “Why do we hurt people who cannot defend themselves?“ Another called asked, “Why must those that need the help the most always be the ones that end up losing the most?” And yet another caller asked, “Why aren't the people rioting in the streets?”
We can’t settle for President Bush’s budget – a budget that cuts funding to essential government assistance programs while keeping tax cuts for America’s richest.
Congress is currently debating on its own version of the federal budget, and there’s never been a more important time to make your voice heard.
Finish the campaign strong: please pick up the phone now!Sincerely,
Tracey Conaty
