Why do US congressmen invite the Czech president
to testify about global warming, is he a expert about global warming? He seems to me a wacko.

Look waht he says about global warming: "Environmentalism is religion" that aims to change human behaviour and the economic system, Klaus said in a lecture he gave in Washington recently.

Klaus says that people who are calling for a change of policy in the struggle against global warming only pretend support for environment protection while in fact they are guided by political regards.

The Congressmen wrote to Klaus that his opinion of the political, economic and moral aspects of the debate on climatic changes can be useful in their effort to assess how the U.S. prepared directives may impact the economic benefit of citizens and the ability to contribute to the future economic vitality and introduction of new procedures in the United States and abroad.

I always thought that the US congress could get more reliable information about this from many other sources i.e. universities in the US, but why Klaus????

1. Note who it is in the second article
"According to the report, Klaus could not attend the hearing. Instead he provided answers to five questions sent to him in a letter signed by Republican members of the committee, Congressmen Joe Barton and Dennis Hastert.

Klaus recently said in a newspaper interview that only Al Gore, and not a sane person, could say that mankind is ruining the planet."

2. He's a known wacko - was against European integration, is a known
rightwinger. Poland and the Czech Republic are screwed militarily. Still in Iraq, and building huge bull's eyes on their countries in the form of the radar complex and missile sites.
